About the Campervan

About the area: Connie lives in a quiet village just north of Cambridge, which is a 25-minute drive away. There are some lovely spots locally including the National Trust Houghton Mill and also Ferry Meadows in Nene Park. Description of Beds: Connie can sleep up to two adults and one child. This includes two adults in the fixed bed which is 1.7m x 1.7m, the mattress pulls out to make the bed a little longer. The kids bed is suspended from the ceiling in the cab area, where the two passenger chairs spin around at the front. This is 120cm x 60cm. It has four sides and is suitable for a weight limit of 30kg, but we would advise children aged 5 and under. Description of Seating: There are three belted seats in the front, including the driver, with headrests. One of these can be used with a children's car seat, the van does not have isofix fittings. The passenger seats swivel around when parked up to provide two seating areas. There is also a bench which can accommodate two other people. Description of Electrical Setup: There is a 100 amp lithium leisure battery, which is charged by the solar and the alternator. There is no electric hook-up. Due to the solar Connie has off-grid capabilities. The inverter can be used for charging laptops, or similar. There are USB charging points on the two lights by the bed. There are 2 x USB chargers on the side panel and a cigarette lighter port. Parking: There is parking available for one vehicle when Connie is collected. There are no restrictions and the vehicle will be parked on the driveway. Cooking Equipment: Connie has a two gas hob, plus everything that should be needed for a trip away, including 4 mugs, 4 bamboo dining plates, side plates and bowls, cutlery for 4, 2 plastic wine glasses, chopping boards, draining board, kettle, hob style toaster, large saucepan, frying pan, cheese grater and colander. Water and Sanitation: There is a 30-litre water tank which can be filled up using a portable tank in the back of the van, the water supply to the sink is via a pump. Water is heated through the heating system and drinking water is through the sink and is sanitised using water tablets. The grey water drains through the floor underneath the sink. There is a portable toilet in the campervan, which is situated in the main living area. Audio Equipment: Connie has a head unit which includes the sat nav. Type of Heating: There is gas heating inside Connie, which is used via a control panel within the main living area of the van. Pet Information: Connie is pet friendly and allows one dog. Conversion Story: Connie was bought in 2019 and was converted during lockdown. She was built with mountain biking in mind, hence the large garage space to accommodate two bikes. However, during the conversion, we grew as a family and used the van more for family trips away. All the work done of the van we did ourselves, and we chose supplies that we already had to save on costs (hence the solid oak parquet flooring!).
