About the Campervan

About the area: Juno lives 10 miles southeast of Edinburgh parked in a quiet cul-de-sac in the sleepy village of Cousland, on the doorstep of a multitude of beautiful Scottish spots to explore. Within 25 minutes drive you can visit the beautiful seaside town of North Berwick, where you can take boat trips to visit Bass Rock, visit one of the best bakeries in the UK, as well as various ruined castles and a plethora of gorgeous beaches in East Lothian. Drive a bit further along the East Coast and you reach stunning cliff-side park ups towards Berwick On Tweed and Northumberland. Juno is perfectly situated for taking on the North Coast 500, or heading west to explore Dumfries and Galloway, Loch Lomond or Glen Coe. Scotland really is your oyster! Juno is located a 10 minute drive away from the closest train station with connections to Edinburgh Waverley, 30 minutes drive from central Edinburgh and 30 minutes away from Edinburgh Airport. Pickup and Drop-off available from Edinburgh Airport or Newcraighall Train Station (10 mins from Edinburgh Waverley Station). See add-ons. Description of Beds: Juno has one fixed standard double bed (190 x 135cm) that sleeps two adults, and one small kids bed underneath (140 x 103cm) that will fit up to two kids under 6-7 who are happy sleeping together. Description of Seating: Juno has two belted seats in the front (including driver) and two belted seats in the rear. All seats have three point seat belts. Description of Electrical Setup: Juno has a 200Ah Roamer Lithium Battery and a Victron 1600VA Easyplus Inverter/Charger. The battery can be charged by the 500w solar panels, 40 amp DC Battery Charger when driving or by hooking up to shore power. Juno can also be plugged into shore power. There are two 240v plug sockets, each with two USB ports. One situated in the kitchen and one between front and rear seats/under the dining table. There are two USB ports in the double bed reading lights and one USB port in the kids bed. Parking: Hirers can park their vehicle on our private driveway, if they drive to pick up Juno. Cooking Equipment: Juno has an induction hob with two 800w rings for any type of cooking. There is also a compact air fryer for roasting, toasting and air frying when hooked up to shore power. There is a saucepan, frying pan and wok that should ensure you're able to cook most stove top meals. For dining there is a set of four eco-bamboo plates and bowls, as well as stylish plastic pint and wine glasses, 2 kids bowls and plates, stainless steel cutlery, a set of good knives and all the cooking utensils you should need. There is also a well stocked spice rack. For the morning there is an electric kettle and a cafetière for coffee making. Water and Sanitation: There is a 60 litre fresh water tank, a 10 litre drinking water tank with separate drinking water tap, 10 litre hot water tank that heats from the diesel air heater and 240v when connected to shore power. For waste water there is a portable 10 litre grey water tank that can be placed under the waste water outlet under the van when in campsites, but for wild camping eco washing up liquid is provided. Juno has a pull out separating/composting toilet that can be used inside the van, or taken out and used inside the provided toilet tent. Audio Equipment: Juno has a standard Citroen Relay sound system and a portable bluetooth speaker is provided. Type of Heating: Juno has a Autoterm 4kw diesel heater that will keep you nice and toasty. Conversion Story: Juno started out as a military crew cab van that was used to transport squaddies around a base. Over the course of 3 years we spent evenings and any free time we had here and there converting Juno, managing to take her away on trips in varying states of completion. About the Owner: Dave & Kaley live in Edinburgh with our two young kids - we run a small e-commerce coffee brand called Faff Coffee that sells specialty coffee bags - perfect for van life. We bought the van in 2021 after renting a van from Quirky Campers to do a photo shoot for Faff and being inspired to do our own conversion. Extra Information: We love the natural grain of softwood plywood so chose this to be the material for our cabinetry (built by Dave’s Dad) and the focal point of the van. We were also inspired to try to make a low cost electric-only conversion possible and worked with Roamer Batteries to design our electrical system. Kaley’s favourite part of the van is her morning bedside coffee shelf. Dave loves the hybrid hot water heating system!

Had a great time in Juno - everything we could want from a camper van for our trip up to the Highlands. Great facilities and very reliable. Great cosy feel inside too.
