About the area: Selkie is located 1 mile away from 3 Cliffs Bay, voted the most beautiful beach in the UK, it’s the heart of the Gower Peninsula, adored by walkers, sun bathers, bird watchers and surfers. With just a short drive to the M4 Selkie is perfectly placed for exploring the Brecon Beacons, Pembrokeshire or venturing further into north Wales or across the Severn Bridge to England. Description of Beds: Selkie sleeps 4 comfortably with a double mattress on the bottom bunk (135cm x 190cm) and 2 interconnecting berths (187cm x 61cm x 63cm) and (170cm x 61cm x 95cm). The spacious design allows for optimal relaxing space in the lower bed with headroom being compromised to a minimum. Description of Seating: There are 5 belted seats with one rear seat having isofix. All five seats have three point belts. Both the driver and double passenger swivel to become rear facing seats giving a surprising amount of extra living space. Description of Electrical Setup: Selkie has 2 double USB charging sockets, and 2 double 240v mains sockets. On her roof is a 370w solar panel charging 2 120ah agm leisure batteries which are also charged whilst driving via a b2b charger for extra off grid power on those cloudy days. She can also be connected to the mains hook up when at a campsite. Parking: If you drive to collect Selkie you are welcome to leave your vehicle on the private drive behind a gate. On the last lane the road condition is poor with several pot holes. If you would rather not drive on this there is ample free parking about 40 metres away where Selkie can meet you to start your adventure. Cooking Equipment: Selkie has 2 gas hobs and a 23L oven and grill. She is equipped with 3 overhead compartments storing 2 pans, a frying pan and a 24 piece unbreakable food safe plastic dinner set. She also has a cutlery drawer and ample storage for dry food and fruit. She also has a 40L fridge and 4.4L freezer. Water and Sanitation: There is an indoor porta potti toilet available. Audio Equipment: Apart from the inbuilt radio player, Selkie has a Roberts Revival Petite DAB radio for the back. You can connect to either system with Bluetooth or Aux input. Type of Heating: There is a 4kw diesel heater installed directly to the main fuel tank. At the flick of a button you can have hot or cold air blowing out. Pet Information: Pets are allowed. Conversion Story: Selkie used to be a work van transporting insulation and has been lovingly converted over the last three years taking time to design a spacious van with character and beauty. The van design was inspired by the magical creatures rooted in Celtic and Nordic legends, able to transform from seal to human form which have captivated the imaginations of coastal communities for centuries.
