About the Campervan

About the area: Lenny’s home is in central Milton Keynes, only a 5-minute taxi from the main station or a 10-minute drive from the M1. This central location has quick train links from London, Manchester, or Birmingham. Within a 2hr drive, you’ll be able to reach the Peak District, Cotswolds, Wales, Suffolk or the South Coast – it’s a great starting place for your campervan adventure! Description of Beds: Lenny sleeps two adults comfortably, with a full-sized permanent double bed measuring 190cm x 135cm so you don't need to worry about making the bed each night. In addition to the window curtain and cab curtain, there is also a curtain just for the bed area for added privacy and cosiness. Description of Seating: There are three belted seats in the cab, including the driver. In the rear living space, the dining space is set up for 2 people, although space could be made for more by use of a camping stool or chair. Description of Electrical Setup: Lenny is kitted out to be off-grid with up to 200W of solar input, and 360W of engine charging keeping the 440Ah batteries topped up. This means you can power the fridge, lights and USB charging without a hook up, and switch on the inverter to plug in a standard 3-pin socket to power up laptops, projectors, camera chargers etc. When you do need to hook up, the cable is easily accessible in the boot which plugs directly into the charger, accessed through the 'garage' space. To keep an eye on power levels there is a voltage readout in the kitchen area. Parking: There is plenty of parking nearby to leave your car. It’s a quiet village with little passing traffic and free public spaces. The train station is only a 5-minute drive away. Cooking Equipment: Lenny is kitted out with a 2 burner gas hob for all your culinary needs. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you’d need in a home away from home, including plates, pasta bowls, wine glasses, tumblers, mugs, a full set of cutlery, cooking utensils, a chopping board, knives, small frying pan, large and small saucepan, and a whistling kettle. The tea and coffee jars are always fully stocked ahead of any adventure as true essentials, along with the corkscrew/ bottle opener! Bin bags, a dustpan and brush and washing-up equipment are also provided. Water and Sanitation: Lenny is kitted out with a hot water heater, ready to go when you need to shower or wash up – even if you’re off grid! Inside one of the bench seats, is the toilet and also the shower. To operate, you simply open the lid, attach the shower curtain to the ceiling and hey presto you've got an inside shower! Lenny has 160L fresh water capacity which could keep you going for a week or possibly longer if you are sparing. For when you do need to top up, the tank is located in the boot and easily accessible with a hose. There is also a filtered drinking tap – eliminating need for plastic bottles or concerns around how fresh the fresh water is! All grey water is captured in an underslung tank which is easily emptied by a flick of the lever outside the van. Audio Equipment: Lenny has a factory-fitted radio with a CD player. Music and phone connectivity can be made using the after-market Bluetooth dongle provided. Type of Heating: To ensure the van is nice and cosy on those winter nights, there is a diesel heater installed which warms up the living space quickly and effectively. As Lenny is fully insulated, it just needs a short blast from the heater and it’ll stay warm for a long time. Pet Information: Lenny is pet friendly. There is space for one small to medium-sized dog under the bench seat. Conversion Story: Lenny began life as a sheet metal van until 2019 when we fell in love and converted him into our dream home on wheels! Since then, we have been all over the UK and abroad with him including the Arctic Circle in Norway, Lofoten Islands, NC500 in Scotland, and South of France. About the Owner: Lenny was our introduction to vanlife and not only made our dream adventures possible but led us on the journey to starting JamVan Conversions Ltd. a small family-run business creating bespoke campervans.
