About the Campervan

About the area: Suki lives in Brighton and is usually parked on the outskirts in a quiet residential area. Currently, there is free parking, which is useful if you want to drop a car off when collecting her for your adventures. Brighton has a lot to offer, a cosmopolitan seaside resort famous for the Royal Pavillon, the Piers, the I360, the oldest electric railway, the Laines shopping and many other attractions. Located in Sussex, there are also many nearby attractions including the South Downs Country Park and Beachy Head cliffs. Description of Beds: Suki sleeps up to four people, the main bed in the back of the van is 175 x 135 cm. The bed can be folded away when not in use. There is a second bed (105 x 185 cm) made up from the bench seating which can sleep another two adults or kids. Description of Seating: Suki is built ideally for 4 people but can seat 5 passengers. There are 3 standard seats in the front plus two extra front-facing bench seats in the rear with lap belts ideally for smaller adults/children. There are no Isofix fittings in this vehicle. The living space has seating for 4 people around the folding dining table. Description of Electrical Setup: Suki has a fully installed off-grid electrical system with two solar panels on the roof providing charge to two 100ah leisure batteries. There is both 12vDC and 240vAC via 2000w inverter. There’s plenty of power points throughout the living space and a site hook-up for the 240v circuits including backup immersion heater for hot water. Parking: There is free parking for your vehicle at the collection location in north Brighton. If you are coming by train it is possible to meet you at Preston Park station just 5 minutes away. Cooking Equipment: Suki has a twin plate induction hob running off the 240v inverter. There is a basket hamper with crockery, cutlery, glasses, a picnic blanket, a chopping board, a saucepan, pot, a kettle and mugs. An Air-fryer can be provided (see optional extras). Water and Sanitation: Suki has a very innovative internal hidden shower with handheld and rainstorm heads. The water heats in a 10-litre Calorifier/heat exchanger working off the main engine coolant system which heats the water whilst driving. There is also a backup immersion heater. There is an 80-litre cold water tank with an electric pump providing pressure for hot and cold water and a level meter fitted. The kitchen sink has pumped hot and cold water. Water should be used efficiently in campervans, don't leave shower running, splash and dash instead. Audio Equipment: There is no specialist audio system installed other than standard radio. There is a TV with roof mounted omni-directional aerial. Type of Heating: Suki is extremely well insulated however there is also a diesel heater mounted under the bench seating which runs off a separate 12 litre fuel tank mounted in the rear (there is a level meter fitted). Pet Information: The campervan is dog friendly but only for small to medium sized, well trained dogs, not ones that nibble on anything available. There is an extra cleaning charge for dogs however, this does include for a dog bed, blanket, and food/water bowls. Conversion Story: Suki began life as a blank canvas white delivery van purchased with sole intention of conversion. The complete conversion was carried out over a 4 month period with every element designed and built by the owner, The van was completed in July 2024 and has been used on a few trips over the summer by family. About the Owner: My name is Tim, I'm a handyman builder with a love of working out how to do things. I converted my first van "Chouette" in 2023/24, which is also available here on Quirky campers and was hired out over the summer of 2024. I had so much fun converting Chouette both as a work van and camper that I decided to do another. Suki has been built purely for roadtrips. Suki is also named after my dog who goes everywhere with me.
