About the area: Wild Olive lives by the sea at Lee-on-the-Solent, near Fareham in Hampshire, between Southampton and Portsmouth. Perfectly located for picking up on your way to the ferry to the nearby Isle of Wight. Also very close to the beautiful New Forest National Park, where you can see ponies roam free across the landscape, the Jurassic Coast in Dorset, great for walking or climbing, or head further on down to the coastal regions of Devon and Cornwall, near the wild Dartmoor National Park.
Description of Beds: Wild Olive comfortably sleeps 4 adults. The full-size fixed bed in the back has a luxurious memory foam mattress, along with LED lighting and reading lights/USB ports above the bed. There is also a pull-out bench seat, 1.8m long X 1.14m wide.
Description of Seating: There are three belted seats in the front (including the driver) all with headrests and three-point belts. The two passenger seats also have swivel bases so when parked up you get more seating and living space inside!
Description of Electrical Setup: Wild Olive has a top-of-the-range electrical system, professionally installed by Revampavan. The Renogy large leisure battery can keep you powered off-grid for days. The 2 x 400W solar panels on the roof continually top up the battery. There is also a 3000W inverter from Renogy, which gives you 230V power, through 4 outlets. There are also 4 12V outlets, which you can use to charge mobile phones/ smaller devices. There is an electrical hook-up on the outside so when you are parked up, Wild Olive can also run off the mains. A long hook-up cable with a 3-pin plug adaptor is provided so you can be plugged in anywhere there is an electrical socket. Wild Olive has various lighting options throughout. There are spotlights across the roof, LED strips around the cupboards and a super bright awning light on the outside.
Parking: If you drive to collect Wild Olive, you are welcome to leave your car in her normal spot on our off-road driveway. The driveway is right in front of our house so will be monitored throughout the day.
Cooking Equipment: Wild Olive has a beautiful, fully equipped kitchen perfect for rustling up delicious meals out in nature. There are two gas hobs, an air fryer, and a large fridge with a freezer compartment. There is also ample space in the overhead cupboards for storing food. Wild Olive is stocked with the basics such as washing up liquid, sponges, tea, and coffee. There are also 4 melamine plates/bowls/cups, 4 sets of cutlery, 4 glasses, knives, a chopping board, and other basic utensils. There is a frying pan, small saucepans and a kettle. Cooking is an absolute pleasure with the beautiful Oak worktop and extending side worktop giving more room for food prep. When you’re ready to eat, Wild Olive has a fold-away table which can be set up in minutes in front of the bench seats.
Water and Sanitation: Wild Olive has hot and cold water on tap. There is a 100-litre underslung fresh water tank which will keep you supplied for days. The electric water pump means the water is instantly there whenever you need it. The top-of-the-range Truma heater in the garage provides instant hot water, with the temperature controllable from the control panel. Wild Olive also has an 80-litre underslung grey water tank, so you won't need to empty it every day, just once at the end of your adventure. There is an internal cassette toilet, hidden neatly within the seating. The cassette is removable for when emptying is required, there is also an outdoor shower at the back, which is great for having a shower with a view out in nature.
Audio Equipment: Wild Olive has a digital radio with a CD player in the cab. There is also a digital, HD TV in the rear with Freeview, so you can easily link up to radio stations etc.
Type of Heating: There is an air heater hidden away in the garage with outlets under the bed and in the main living area which will keep you toasty warm. This can be powered by the electric system, from the main tank, or a combination of both. The warm air heater is also controlled by the control panel within the van. To help you with staying cool and keeping good ventilation there are two internal roof fans, one in the front and one towards the back.
Conversion Story: Wild Olive is a one-of-a-kind conversion with full off-grid capabilities, she started life as a window fitters van and was hardly used at all when bought for conversion. As the extra high and extra long model, it was the perfect van to be a spacious and luxurious campervan. Even the tallest of people can comfortably stand up inside without having to crouch down. Whilst the majority of the conversion has been completed by Wild Olive’s owners, all of the electrics were done by Revampavan, to ensure 100% safety. With solar panels on the roof, gas hobs, and underslung clean and grey water tanks, you can stay comfortably off-grid for days. Wild Olive is designed for and ready for adventure, with a camouflage-style Moss Grey paint job, rugged off-road tyres and a huge garage for storing equipment, whatever your adventure may be. When you return to Wild Olive at the end of the day, it is the perfect place to have a cup of tea rewind and relax with ample seating and a well-equipped kitchen. The luxurious full-size fixed bed in the back with a memory foam mattress will ensure you get a restful night's sleep. So get ready to have that adventure you’ve always been dreaming of. For sunny days, Wild Olive has a huge Fiamma awning, which provides ample shade for the inside, but also provides a lovely spot for reading a book or having dinner outside under cover. For those more adventurous, there is even a ladder on the back door, leading up to a small seating area on the roof, perfect for two to enjoy the morning sunrise or evening sunset.
