The forest is home to red squirrels, pine martens, and capercaillies.
Rothiemurchus Estate (30 minutes)
Home to Loch An Eileen, a picturesque freshwater loch with a ruined castle on an island. Nice path for cycling/walking round the path.
A large estate with various outdoor activities to offer. Well marked biking trails.
Highland Wildlife Park (near Kingussie) (35 minutes)
A safari park with native Scottish wildlife, including wolves, wildcats, and red deer, alongside endangered species like the polar bears and snow leopard.
Landmark Adventure Park (20 minutes)
Popular family-friendly attraction located in Carrbridge, near Aviemore in the Cairngorms. It offers a variety of outdoor activities and experiences, including tree-top trails, a high ropes course, waterslides, and a climbing wall. The park also features a maze, a butterfly house, and the iconic Fire Tower for panoramic views of the surrounding forest. It’s a great destination for adventure, nature, and fun for all ages.
