About the Campervan

About the area: Leona is located on a residential street in South Glasgow, 9 minutes drive from the M8 and M74 motorway with easy road links from the motorway into the national road network taking you to the Scottish Highlands, the Hebridian Islands and beyond. On your doorstep you’ll find the Cairngorms (the largest park in the UK) Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park and the North Coast 500 route. Description of Beds: Leona can sleep up to 2 adults comfortably on a full-size fixed double bed. It’s a proper mattress on a sprung slatted base, cosy duvet with 100% cotton bedding and 4 pillows to ensure rest and relaxation. Description of Seating: Leona has three seats in the front cab, including the driver’s seat (all with seatbelts and headrests). There are two wooden stool boxes which pull out from under the bed into the living/kitchen area. There are additional camping chairs and a table for al fresco seating. Description of Electrical Setup: The 250W solar panel and x2 110Ah leisure battery allow for off-grid living. There are multiple USB ports and 12v outlets in both the driving and living area, some of these are located at the rear of the bed. A plug-in mains inverter is included in the hire, suitable for charging laptops. Cooking Equipment: Leona has everything you need to cook up a feast, whether you want to BBQ something special on the edge of a loch, or whip up a quick breakfast. There is a two-ring gas hob installed in the kitchen for indoor cooking, and a portable BBQ (fuel required) for cooking outside. The kitchen comes with all the essentials such as cooking oil, tea, coffee, spices and seasoning, a bottle opener, bin bags, tea towels and cleaning materials. Water and Sanitation: There are x3 12-litre removable water tanks in Leona that supply water to the sink via an electric tap. Leona has an outdoor shower that you can hang up on the side door of the van or in the trees. You can add hot water with the kettle and hob. A portable Porta-Potti chemical toilet is included, and the 12L toilet fits discreetly into its own compartment inside the van. Heating: Leona is installed with a diesel heater to heat up the van super quick after a cold dip in the sea or while having a cosy cup of tea. You can switch the heater on and off from the kitchen using a button on the wall. If it is hot, you can use the plug in USB fan or the overhead extractor fan above the kitchen to cool off. We took Leona to the Sahara desert, where the fan was essential, but you might not need it for the Highlands! Audio Equipment: Leona has a rechargeable portable Bluetooth speaker and a built-in digital radio in the cab. Conversion Story: In her past life, Leona was a DHL delivery van! We worked with a number of talented local carpenters to design her custom wooden fitted out with birch plywood, creating a natural, understated yet functional space for short trips and longer periods. We travelled in Leona for 13 months around Europe, she has even been to the continents of Asia and Africa! Because we lived in Leona for so long, we carefully considered all aspects of her personality, from her pretty white-washed roof, to the mood lighting. Parking: If you are driving to pick up Leona, you can leave your car on our street as there is ample free on-street parking throughout the neighbourhood. Extra Information: If you are travelling by train to pick up Leona, the nearest train station, ‘Mount Florida’ is a 9-minute walk, with trains departing every 15 minutes from Glasgow Central station (approx 10 minute journey time) at peak times. Leona is perfect for adventurers with lots of kit; the huge main storage area is 112cm wide by 150cm deep and 75cm high(85cm in some areas), perfect for bikes etc! There is also a long storage area that fits up to x3 surfboards under 7ft, 30cm(W) x 235cm(D) x 60cm(H).

My trip in Leona was fantastic. The camper was faultless and has been renovated thoughtfully and stylishly. Everything was super easy to find and figure out with the instructions from Alex and Lucie. The wan was perfect for exploring in and I loved every minute of it. Thank you 🙏
