About the Campervan

About the area: Stevie The EV is located on the Warwickshire/Leicestershire border on a quiet residential street, and really is the van of your "dreams" (cue the start of many Fleetwood Mac puns) A great central location for you to "go your own way". As an electric vehicle, Stevie can be charged overnight via electric hook-up, meaning you can wake up the next day with her fully charged and ready to set off on a new adventure (so essentially free mileage). Her 120 mile range is realistic and due to her central location would allow you to travel to counties such as Norfolk or Yorkshire in a single charge, with the Cotswolds and the Peak District just 60 miles away. Description of Beds: Stevie sleeps 2 adults in a bed which is the same size as a double. The pull-out bed gives you the full length of a double bed. The L-shaped sofa simply slides out and the sofa cushions fit together, it takes no more than 2 minutes to pull out and put together. Description of Seating: Stevie has 2 belted seats. The sofa area seats 4 comfortably, perfect for entertaining friends in the evening. There is a wind-out awning and a camping table with 4 chairs so dining outside is super comfortable even if it's raining. Description of Electrical Setup: There are 2 leisure batteries (220AH in total) and 350W of solar power, capable of performing off grid. There are USB charging points and 2 cigarette lighter ports. Parking: If you drive to collect you can park either in the quiet village cul de sac or on the driveway if arranged in advance. Kitchen Facilities: There is a two gas hob burner inside and a single gas burner that can be used outside. Stevie has everything you need, pots, pans, cutlery, plates, hob kettle, electric kettle (for use on EHU). There is also a USB coffee frother so you can have your posh coffee off-grid. Bathroom Facilities: There is an indoor shower and the water is heated via a Truma Combi-Boiler. The boiler is the best thing going, it can be used solely with gas or electric so there is hot water and heating no matter where you are. There is an electric flushing toilet and a 35 litre tank. I tend not to drink the water from the tank unless I boil it first but it is Wras approved so you could if you wished. I tend to use the onboard water tank for boiling, washing up and showering and then buy 5 litre bottles of water for drinking fresh, which can be stored in the deep pan drawer in the kitchen. Audio Equipment: There is a full 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay in the cab. In the campervan there is a Cello 12V TV with Bose Soundlink Bluetooth speaker. This is Netflix and Amazon Prime compatible so you can use wi-fi from your personal hotspot to watch your favourite shows of an evening. Type of Heating: The Truma Boiler can run off either gas or electric so the van is cosy whether you are on-site or off-grid. I've used it for wild swimming many a time, and we are always glad of the hot shower and warm van after! Pet Information: The van is pet friendly, I'll leave it to your judgment how big a dog you would like in there with you. My border terrier enjoys a night in there but my giant malamute less so. Conversion Story: Stevie The EV was a brand new van when I got her. Amazon had intended to change some of their fleet to EVs but had a change of heart so I picked her up with just 40 miles on the clock. I converted her myself in 2023, she is my third van, having previously converted an old wildlife ambulance and a mobile library bus, both of which have gone on to have happy homes with new owners. I love driving electric though so I'll be keeping Stevie for myself but letting others have the joy and ease of driving electric. About the Owner: I'm a singer-songwriter and I love doing anything creative. I started converting vans in 2019, having spent 5 years as a property developer. I really liked how quickly I could turn a van into a little home! I pride myself on making the vans cosy and a real home away from home. I'm not a van of the motorhome interior style so Quirky really appealed to me. Extra Information: The Amazon van that never was, converted by a singer-songwriter… hopefully quirky enough!?
