Spirit

About the area: Spirit the campervan is located in Cockermouth, Cumbria. On the fringe of the beautiful Lake District National Park and close to the Cumbria coast, including Allonby. From Cockermouth it’s only a 50-minute drive to the Scottish border, and you can be on the Isle of Arran within 4 hours. Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park are under 3 hours away. Or you could head West to the Northumberland Coastline - theres so many beautiful areas to explore! Description of Beds: Spirit sleeps up to 4 adults comfortably. Spirit has one fixed double bed and a second bed which converts from the rib seats. It takes only a few minutes to convert the second bed which comes with a Duvalay mattress topper and zipped-in duvet. If you require the third bed that is fixed to the roof, this drops down and takes minutes to set up - it comes with a memory foam mattress and single duvet all included for a comfortable night's sleep. Description of Seating: Spirit has four belted seats. Two in the front and the rib seat in the back, which has isofix attachments. Description of Electrical Setup: There are several charging points in the van, including six USB points and four three-pin plug points, which can be used when connected to hook up. When not hooked up to mains electricity Spirit runs off a leisure battery and has a 305 Victron Mono Solar Panel, which can keep you off grid for several days. Parking: If driving to collect Spirit, there is space for one vehicle to be left on the drive for the duration of your booking. Kitchen Facilities: Spirit has a fully equipped kitchen which comprises of a fridge with 10l freezer compartment, 3 gas hobs and a sink. As well as with 2 pans, a small frying pan, and two ridge monkeys (small and large). You will have all the utensils you need and enough plates, bowls and cups for up to four people. Bathroom Facilities: Spirit has a compostable toilet and shower attached to the back of the van to be used outside. Type of Heating: Spirit has a 4kw autoterm diesel heater with comfort controller. Pet Information: Spirit is a pet-friendly van with the capacity for 2 dogs. They will need to be kept off the furniture and not be left unattended in the van. Conversion Story: Spirit, in her former life was an Amazon Prime delivery van before we purchased her in November 2022. We found a local company called Fettle in Cumbria to convert her, and they did everything. Emily and Paul had not long set up their business and we were their second full conversion. I knew as soon as I met them that they were who we needed to design and build Spirit. We had some specific requirements, we were not going bigger than a mid-wheel base van, wanted to be able to be off grid for several days on end, have a toilet on board, a fixed adult bed that would be permanently made and then also have space for two children with a four year age gap who want separate beds. What they created hit our criteria and then some and is now the beautiful van you see today. Spirit has already given us so many amazing memories and I hope she gives the same to others.
