Stockham Farm is just over a mile up into the hills above the lovely market town of Dulverton and has wonderful views down the Exe Valley and of Dunkery Beacon, the highest point in Exmoor and Somerset. With easy access to the open moorland and wooded valleys of Exmoor National Park, the location is perfect for walking holidays as well as just relaxing.
The farm is home to horses, Exmoor Horn sheep and abundant wildlife, including Red Deer which come right up to the pond to drink on summer evenings. To see more about the farm, check out their Instagram @stockham_farm.
Exmoor is the first Dark Sky Reserve in Europe and is still regarded as the best place to stargaze in the UK as there is so little light pollution. Stockham Farm has been officially accredited as a Dark Sky Friendly Business by the National Park, so it is a great place to spend the night stargazing and enjoying the serenity of being away from it all.
Access is from a small country lane into the grass field, parking on grass.
