2011 Ford Transit Campervan – My home for the last 5 years
It’s time to part ways with my much loved van. He’s been my home for the last five years, and we’ve been on many adventures to many places. Fully converted by me, and I’ll be sorry to see him go, hopefully to a good home. Need to sell due to change of circumstances.
Features:
Solid, spacious, ergonomic and beautiful conversion, with lots of wood.
Kitchen- It’s a pleasure to use. Smev double burner and sink unit, with a 7kg Calor gas bottle, two 25l water tanks, with water pump and tap. Wipe clean surfaces, plenty of cupboard space spice rack, and bottles/sauces rack. (Ignition is temperamental on the smaller ring).
Electrics- 300w solar panel, 2x 80Ah AGM battteries, Epever charge controller, Two charging panels for usb/12v (one in the kitchen, one by the bed/back door), downlights, and warm glow fairy lights all round the panelling (remote controlled).
Woodburner- Cadet 2.5kw by Bow Mill Stoves (local brand – check them out) with sun flare glass door. I’ve lined it with fire brick, and it burns really nice, clean and hot, and shuts down well. There’s a log store below the woodburner with an axe, and I’ve included my blowtorch, which I always used to light it. I’ll miss sitting in the bed, toasty warm, watching the flames. Enjoy
Drying rack- There’s a really good drying rack by the woodburner, in front of the door. Makes adventures out in harsh conditions feel great when you can come back, hang up wet gear by the door, and put the fire on.
Bed- Not much to say, but it’s big, solid and comfy, and it’s made of 4 plywood panels that you can easily lift up to access the storage underneath.
Storage- Lots of good, usable storage. Cubby holes all down the back wall, cupboards over the cab, wardrobe beside the bed, under bed storage, in the kitchen. You get the idea.
Rhino roof rack- Space all down one side for surfboards/sups/kayaks. Space at the back for a roof deck (sorry it had one, but I removed it because it rotted out, can chat about the design if you’re interested in making one).
Memories wall- kind of not a feature, but the space above the cubby holes is excellent for pinning/screwing stuff too. The art pictured in the listing is not included, because it’s my memories of times in the van, but I wanted to show you it to give inspiration to put your own memories there. Just an idea
Paperwork- I’ve got a record of all services, work, and the undersealing in the time I’ve had it.
Bad Bits- the ignition on the small hob ring, as already mentioned.
The alternator belt is squeaking.
Some rust on the sills, however the underside is very clean (see videos in link).
Bodywork has some dents, and paint repairs, all sound just cosmetic.
As such, I’m selling cheaper than I would hope to without these issues, but it’s ready to go for the summer, it’s a lovely van, it’s been running well all the time I’ve had it, and with those bits done it should be great for a long time.
Feel free to ask any questions, and viewings welcome.
