Detailed Information
Vehicle Description

2016 Mercedes Sprinter MWB 313 CDI Silver
– 116k miles
– Full service history at Mercedes until we acquired it, where it had a full service and examination when we got it by a well regarded local mechanic. It had a second oil change in the time that we’ve had it.
– Cruise Control
– 2x keys
– Aircon
– Yokohama G015 LT All terrain 3PMSF rated tyres – perform excellently! Plenty of life on them, they’ve covered about 15k miles + Brand New Spare Yokohama G015 AT
– New MOT Dec 22 – no advisories or comments
– Oil change Dec 22

Great condition inside and out. Previous life as a SMART dent and paint repair works van – so hasn’t been a building or multi-drop van! A few dents in places visible in the photos, notably the back doors. Some stone chips on bonnet. Clean underneath, no rust.

Conversion Description

Bertie is a 2016 medium wheelbase silver Sprinter van converted over the past 2 or so years, purchased in December 2020 as a panel van and mostly completed in 2021, with the finishing touches in 2022! Hundreds of build photos showing every stage, and materials used and a description as well. We converted him into a camper suitable as an adventure/ski/paddleboarding/mountain biking van.

We spent a long time figuring out the perfect layout to maximise space, prepping the van and building everything ourselves apart from installing the two windows on the sides (thought best leave that to a local professional!). We are super happy with the outcome and have loved taking him on trips the past 2 years. We have a huge number of build photos from the entire process showing how everything’s assembled, and the necessary steps taken during preparation. More than happy to provide these as well as a description and explanation of products used.

Layout:
* Bulkhead to separate the cab from the living area – we thought it was important to keep it in, for safety purposes if we were to ever get into an accident. There is a cutout, which can be used to get through if there were ever to be a situation where that was needed
* Kitchen with solid oak worktop, sink with domestic tap, fridge, portable induction hob, plenty of pantry storage and Dometic Mini-Heki sky light
* Living space finished with an Oak engineered wood floor
* Two fixed seats with storage, and a safe underneath with a fold up table in the middle
* Four overhead storage cupboards
* Raised fixed bed running the width of the van and MaxxAir fan above the bed. Mattress is an Ikea Åsvang.
* Huge garage space under the bed with bloK pod T-track and bloK pod two bike mounts

Materials and fixings:

Insulation:
Dodo mat sound deadening pads throughout the van. Dodo thermoliner pro 10mm on all internal metal surfaces of the walls, taped seams with foil tape. Recycled plastic bottle insulation on top of that between walls and the dodo thermoliner pro.

Internal furnishings:
Made from 12mm hard wood ply and 12mm Birch Ply. All surfaces primed with Zinser Bullseye 123 primer, and finished with several coats of Dulux matt bathroom paint.
