DVLA say registered grey but we are happy to call it black paintwork. Few small marks due to be repaired this week or buyer can take the quote off the asking price if in a rush! Otherwise body work is excellent
2 litre engine with 163 Bhp which has no problem with this conversion. It is a pleasure to drive. Great MPG we reckon mid 30’s.
Smart dashboard with touch screen radio/CD/bluetooth player. will play your Spotify from your phone/ take calls etc
Reversing sensors
Air conditioning
2 privacy windows in the sides, a fixed window to the sliding door and an opening one to the panel behind the drivers door.
Windscreen and cab blinds insulated
We have kept the exterior of this camper simple to avoid the appearance of a camper. All fittings are black which looks smart. We like to appear van like but should you wish to there is amazing scope to add vinyls! Due to the new DVLA regulations it is no longer possible to convert the classification of a van shaped vehicle to a ‘Motor caravan’ classification. This classification now only applies to a motorhome with the appearance of a true motorhome not a van camper. Happy to talk more about this should you wish.

4 BERTH DESIGN
This camper has been designed for a family of 3 or 4 but would also work really well for having a very loved family dog on board! We have created a large travel cot sized bed at the rear of the van above the small double bed which was for our 1 year old. However the space would work really well for a very loved dog or an amazing storage unit! We designed the van to have 4 seatbelts as a travel cot will also fit easily in between the front and rear seats. Therefore it would also work well for twins/ two young children / a child and a dog etc! The travel cot size we use is in both spaces is 120cm long x 60cm wide so larger than a standard one.

OFF GRID: This camper can be used to camp off the grid / not on a site should you wish! There is refillable LPG gas and a large solar panel for the 12v electrics. We have also installed a split charge relay. The batteries have remained very happy coping with our 12v consumption. We do also have 240v hook up too – see below.

SHOWER/TOILET:
We also insisted on an on board shower/toilet. The toilet is an electric flushing Thetford C200 with a cassette underneath. We have also installed a SOG which, if you don’t know, is very essential in the world of campervan toilets! It is essentially a mini extractor fan which when you open the flap of the toilet sucks air into the cassette and draws the air outside so that NO smell escapes – it is such a brilliant invention and has a small filter that requires changing every 12 months. The shower hose is a squeeze to use hose however you could attach a different hose if you would like. It has its own thermostat also.

HEATING AND HOT WATER:
We have installed a Truma 2E unit in the rear of the van which heats 10L of hot water and provides excellent heating which is thermostat and timer controlled should you wish. We adore this form of heating as it is so quiet at night and very efficient. It is a very expensive piece of kit at £1200 I think or maybe even more by the time you add their special ducting but worth every penny on those cold nights/mornings! The van is insulated with foil back insulation and recycled plastic insulation.

GAS:
We have an onboard refillable 20L Gas it Bottle. This is refillable at petrol stations that sell LPG gas and is refillable via the external filling point. It takes approx £12 to fill it up and we haven’t run out after 2x 1 week trips! So it is very efficient. We have used these bottles before and found them to be very cost effective once installed despite the high purchase cost.

240V ELECTRICS:
240V fuse board with sockets in the van and external hook up point. The Truma can run on 240V also. There is a plug socket available should you wish to install a leisure battery charger however the solar panel is also very capable so we haven’t needed one.

SOLAR POWER:
It has a single 200W German made rigid solar panel set up from Photonics Universe.
From their website: The long-lasting, high-efficiency monocrystalline German solar cells and the tough, sealed, aluminium frame will give you years and years of consistent, free power. The waterproof design ensures that the panel can be used in all weather conditions. This panel also features innovative 5 busbar solar cells, which are more efficient than the 2, 3 or 4 busbar solar cells used in most other solar panels, and are able to extract more power from the same surface area. This results in a smaller overall solar panel, which is ideal for applications where space is limited.
There is also a solar charge controller which monitors the power coming in and level of the leisure batteries.

12V ELECTRICS:
There are 2 x 120 Amp hour leisure batteries on board.
There is also a split charge relay fitted from the engine battery to the leisure batteries.
Dometic CRE50 fridge with removable freezer compartment. Similar to the CRX50 but the door looks different and is apparently made from cheaper materials but I actually prefer it now and it goes really well with the van styling! It still has the releasing handle so doesn’t open in transit.
12V spot lights, 12V led lights under the high level units, 12v light to rear bed, 12v Gas alarm, USB charging points to the main bed and rear pair of seats, 12v Shurflo water pump and 12v extractor or inhaling ceiling fan.

WATER:
Fiamma 70L water tank which is filled via the filler cap externally and a 24L waste water tank underslung.

KITCHEN & STORAGE:
Stunning kitchen units finished in a dark sage green colour that is matt not glossy and matt black knobs also. We have stained the worktop to suit the pallet wood features and then oiled with Osmo oil (food safe). Loads of kitchen space and the 4 smaller drawers are so useful. Storage available under the floor in front of the rear seats, under the rear seats, above the cab area and in all cupboards that you see. Twin gas hob with excellent quality adjustments compared to previous hobs purchased through the business – we are very impressed with this one! Good size sink with small drainer. All kitchen doors are fitted with strong magnets which have been excellent. The drawers are soft close and have not required magnets.

LIVING AREA:
We have installed newly upholstered swivel seats to the front and a pair of seats to the rear to create a great seating area that is very comfortable. These are still in new condition.

SLEEPING:
The small double bed at the rear has an Ikea HOVAG medium firm mattress which was our personal choice as we have this on our main and spare bed at home! We definitely could have found a thinner cheaper option but comfort is key to us! This is included and very lightly used – still new condition.

SUMMARY 🙂
Stunning camper conversion completed by ourselves. We had a limited company converting vans however due to covid we took a hit and had to withdraw from our premises and find work. This van has been lovingly converted for ourselves to enjoy however we have now decided to relocate abroad and plan to hire one over there for exploring! We have been on two short family holidays which is good confirmation that everything in the van is in full working order tried and tested! It is still in immaculate condition.

Virtual and in person viewings are welcome in Lostock Gralam, Northwich (5 mins from J19 of M6) – contact Annie on 07875 166 062.

Conversion Description

The DVLA have changed their classification methods so you can no longer change the classification of a van conversion to ‘motor caravan’. I spoke to a very helpful lady having had a t5 refused and was shocked as it is the most camper esque conversion we have done with all the external features!! Might need to adjust this part of the website as the standards have changed. So a van with a conversion in will no longer meet the classification of ‘Motor Caravan’ – only motorhomes which are pretty much registered at birth as they look so motorhomey fall into this classification from now on. All insurance companies should now also be accepting of this according to the DVLA. I spoke to them in March 2021.
This will remain classed as ‘panel van’ but I will send off to adjust the number of seats from 3 to 4.

Beds Description

Small double mattress for 2 adults
1 travel cot shape built in above the main bed – 120cm x 60cm
1 space for a travel cot between front and rear seats – 120cm x 60cm.
