VW CRAFTER CR35 TDI , MWB, 2016
2016 MWB VW Crafter. Bought from a van dealership. We are the second owners the first being a delivery driver (we think!) Low milage still, even after our travels. 6 gears, diesel fuel. Next MOT due 30th July. Last MOT’s all been fine, just minor things to fix (windscreen wiper replacement etc) Never needed any major work.
We’ve driven this van many miles around Europe and she’s a very trusty beast!
There’s a dent on the drivers side panel, halfway down the van. We haven’t looked into getting this fixed. Cosmetic damage only. There’s also some minor scrapes to the front bumper area, too. I have pictures I can send to you before viewing.
We added AirCon into the cab plus added additional t-series deadlocks plus bolt on armaplates on all doors of the van.
This is our beloved Campervans ‘Pig’. We had her converted in 2019 for some big full-time adventures in Europe. Now we are back and we’re looking for a smaller van to do weekend trips in, so we are helping Pig find her new home.
She was converted by a professional team, who did the best job. The workmanship / craftsmanship really is next level.
We did live full-time in the van for over a year, so there’s general wear and tear. We’ll list anything specific here, too.
I’ll start with specifics about what she has!
The van has double layer insulation and has tongue and groove pine cladding throughout. Ply sub flooring, with a vinyl finish. Plus, carpet door lining.
Swivel seat at the front that opens out the space. There’s a table (that stows away behind the drivers seat) that fits into a swivel bracket for this seat. It’s perfect for working from.
The kitchen area:
– Sink and spray tap. There’s a separate tap for filter water too. This works from a reverse osmosis system, in the back.
– 50L fresh water tank and 20L grey water tank.
– Thetford oven with gas hobs, and grill.
– A dometic 80L fridge.
– A tiled splash back
– Hardwood work-top.
Full length top cupboards on one side, with an open middle section (for a plant if you can stick it down…)
Strip lights under these cupboards, these work on a remote and can vary in colour and brightness.
2 x Max Air fans, with remotes.
Eberspacher diesel heater
Seating area with pull out table.
LOADS of storage in the form on drawers that fit into the bed area, and under the seating benches.
Electrics:
– 4 x 100W rigid solar panels and charge controller.
– Split charge system
– Campsite plug-in and charge controller
– 4 x 105 amp sealed leisure batteries. (Just a note on the batteries. We had a big bank as we both worked remotely on the road. Everything still works perfect! If we did get the batteries tested we would guess that their overall capacity might have dropped a little. There’s still so much potential power in them! One of us used a hefty computer with a big GFX card for work, which is the reason we know)
– VICTRON BMV 712 smart meter
– 3000w pure sine inverter
– 240 v sockets
– USB sockets
Garage area
– Refillable LPG. Gas locker and 2.7kg gas canister. Refilable via side cap on the side of the van. (with all the adapters for abroad)
– Water filter system
– lots of storage
– The electrics (as detailed above)
Extras:
Magnetic black-out window covers for the back windows.
Window covers for the front cab windows.
Additional t-series deadlocks plus bolt on armaplates on all doors of the van.
One double bed. Originally set up to sleep width ways in the van (I’m 5’7 and I fit exactly!) We now have an additional modification, so you can convert it the other way too and it’s long enough for a 6’3 person at least! This modification was not part of the original ‘professional’ conversion. It works a treat! (we lived in the van for over a year) but it’s not as ergonomically designed as the rest!
