Baloo has been hired out through Quirky Campers for 4 years by us and several years before that by the previous owner. So the vehicle has always been well maintained and fully serviced.
The 7ft 3inch internal height gives a great feeling of space, yet Baloo is easy to drive and can be driven with a standard driving licence. There is a reversing camera on the back which can also be used as a rear view mirror.
Originally a British Gas van, the conversion was carried out by the previous owner. Having viewed a number of ‘plastic’ motorhomes and small transit style campervans they wanted a spacious and airy campervan with a ‘country cottage’ feel.
We bought Baloo in July 2021 and in that winter, Baloo was completely refurbished and upgraded to include an internal shower, new lounge seat cushions, new curtains and a new colour scheme.
Baloo has provided a good rental income for us, with school holidays in particular, easily getting fully booked each year. But we’re moving house and our new home doesn’t work for campervan rental.
Baloo was converted very cleverly by previous owner Ben, who worked out a simple way to accommodate two full sized double beds (one lowered from the ceiling, the other made up from the dining space seats) along with two medium sized bunk beds. Overall, loads of super comfortable yet out of the way sleeping space.
The kitchen is well equipped with an oven, grill, 2 gas hobs, kitchen sink, fridge and freezer and plenty of cupboard space. There’s all the pots and pans, crockery, cutlery and utensils you’ll ever need included in the sale.
The lounge/dining area has lots of comfortable seating, a removable table and plenty of head room, even when the double bed above is lowered. The front driver and passenger seats swivel round to join the lounge area.
Baloo has a private bathroom inside with built-in toilet, hot or cold shower and sink. There’s an outside shower too for muddy boots and sandy feet.
With gas space heating, a gas water heater and solar panels recharging the leisure and vehicle batteries, Baloo is fully off-grid but can also be plugged into a mains electricity supply.
There’s an inverter supplying one standard 3 pin socket and 2 additional 240v sockets which work as normal when connected to the mains. Devices can be charged off-grid from several USB connections.
There are 5 belted seats. 2 in the front cab and 3 rear passenger seats in the lounge area. One rear passenger seat has an Isofix.
The radio has bluetooth, USB and aux connectivity and has speakers in the cab and lounge area.
All the windows and roof vent have blackout blinds and fly netting blinds. There are blackout blinds for the cab windows so the van can be completely dark at night.
The big boot is home to the contained gas cylinder with plenty of additional storage space. A removable bike rack is included in the sale which holds 2 adult bikes.
Clean and grey water tanks (both 55 litres) are fitted underneath the van. The water pump in the boot supplies the hot or cold water to both sinks and showers.

Baloo sleeps 6 adults. There are two double beds (full sized) and two fixed single bunk beds. One comfy double mattress lowers from the ceiling and the other double is created from cushions in the dining area. The bunk beds are popular with children and there’s a bed guard to create a cot for little ones.
