LDV MAXUS
This van is a 2007 LDV Maxus Hi-roof LWB van, with 5-speed gearbox. 121,000 recorded miles. There are tinted window to the side with portholes to the rear, and a roof light which opens for ventilation.
It was designed and fitted to serve as a “home from home” while working away, and it has been kitted out to a high standard for that reason – including the level of insulation, as shown in the images. The interior is designed to be homely rather than the usual bland neutral themes generally found in motorhomes.
A change in circumstance has meant that the van has never been used in that way, and it is now surplus to my requirements.
Mechanically the van is also very sound, and in particular the engine and the rear brakes were professionally rebuilt only a few months ago.
The engine was professionally rebuilt in December 2021 and so was effectively new at that time. Evidence available on request. Auxiliaries including new water pump, clutch and timing belts were replaced at that time, and so the van is ready for long road trips. It was subsequently serviced 27th September 2022, and has a valid MoT until 6th February 2024.
The cab benefits from fitted leather seats sourced from a Mercedes car, making it extremely comfortable on long journeys. JVC head unit with JBL speakers and Eton Subwoofer complete the upgraded feel. The central locking system has been remapped so that the fob unlocks the rear doors independently of the cab.
The UK-built Maxus is renowned for having excellent corrosion resistance, and additionally this van benefited from being plywood-lined at the time of purchase. The interior and underbody of the vehicle were therefore both remarkably sound at the time of conversion. Cosmetically there was a little more to deal with, and some superficial bumps and scrapes have been repaired accordingly.
The level of provision provided for utilities reflects the original purpose, and hence there is very ample power, water, and heating provision for leisure use. Gas installation was completed by a gas safe plumber, registered to work on these systems. Highlights include:
