Renault Trafic LWB 2.0 DCi
Renault Trafic 2.0DCi 115bhp 265,00 Miles 2008
I’ve owned this for 4 years now, bought it off a good friend who had been using it to stay down in London a few nights a week. So most of the mileage has been done on the motorway to & from Newcastle, he bought it from someone he knew so we’ve known the history of the van for well over 10 years and got a van-builder (who has had many on Quirky) to convert the rear. It is still registered as a van with windows, so you can park up anywhere in this!
The mileage is high, however, it had a new “top end” put on approx 80,000 miles ago before I got it and I have spent £1000’s about 2 years ago (The van has not been used for the past 14/15 months so the work that was done on the engine itself is basically brand new). All injectors have been replaced with top-end BOSCH (and recently pressure tested), sensors (MAF, etc) , and other bits. (Got lots of receipts). Brakes/Pads were all done within 8-10,000 miles ago, so all good. Just replaced the main battery too.
It recently passed its M.O.T with flying colours, it got 5 advisories – handbrake cable (now replaced) & as it had not been used for a while all the tyres were cracked (all brand new ones have been fitted), so basically a clean sheet. It had a full service, oil & filters which it has had done every 8-10,000 miles from past two owners, when in getting MOT.
It is a Long Wheel Base version with the factory-fitted side windows and rear barn door windows, all with factory privacy glass. There is a KENWOOD head unit with Bluetooth, USB, AUX, and a rear tow-bar fitted.
The rear conversion;
This has just been more or less fully refitted, brand new GEL 95Ah NUMAX leisure battery, new diesel night heater, new 20l water & waste tanks, new water pump. It has VAN-X curtains on each of the windows and a VAN-X curtain between the cab and rear. It has a skylight too with a night screen/fly net. And the storage for a little van is immense! It has 4 USB’s and a cigarette lighter socket in the back. There is a Dometic 2 burner hob and a little sink, which have had very little use. Rock & roll bed, sleeps two.
The van is ready for the new owner to jump straight in and enjoy. It will come with a TomTom, small drive-away awning & power cable for campsite use.
The bad bits;
The gearbox/clutch – both work fine, however, when going down the box from a higher speed, the lower gears need a light hand to select the gear correctly. This has been this way since I have owned the van, and I have done around 35k miles in it without any issues. The synchromesh is the issue, what is causing this, the gearbox & clutch are fine so I have never bothered getting this done. I wouldn’t even consider getting it done if I was keeping the van, but unfortunately, she has to go 🙁
The front driver’s seat is ripped on the side, has been since I’ve had it, never bothered me & nothing a seat cover won’t hide.
The bodywork is solid, there are obviously age-related blemishes, slight marks from trees, etc but overall the paintwork is very good.
Just been refurbed, new electrics, water tanks, batteries, heater, floor..
Rock & Roll 2 bith bed
