Detailed Information
Vehicle Description

Betty the Bedford is a thing of beauty, she’s been lovingly converted from a horsebox into a off grid home and stage. If you love woody things she’s your girl! She’s a rare find only one of 3 left in existence.
Inside, she is fully converted and ready to go anywhere.
We have loved using her as a traveling home and a solar stage for kids to perform at festivals.

Mechanics:
The engine is a 330 D Diesel 6 cylinder 2000cc, with a 2 rigid axel body, and air brakes. 1981 plate, she is tax and MOT exempt. Though we do get her MOT/serviced every year. Shes 7.5 tonne, but actually weighs 5.5 tonnes.
A massive bonus is she only has 33,000 miles on the clock, she had been in storage for 17 years when we bought her so her engine is in really good condition for her age. We have had her for 9 years and have all the images from the build to conversion as well as the service history and info on works carried out in that time.

Sleeping:
king size bed over the cab area, with more space for books/ a brew etc. LED wall lights and wooden wall sockets.
The pine and oak horseshoe sitting area converts into another double bed, by inserting an oak table., you can enjoy the scenery from the large double windows.

The sitting area is furnished with nostaligic 60’s fabrics and prints, the curtains do have black out fabric attached for a good nights sleep!

There is ample storage under the seats and also single and double wardrobes for any extras you need.
There are wooden doors that lead into the cab area, these are handy if a passenger needs to get in whilst driving.!
The custom made seed of life wood burner and eco fan are a luxury for any adventures in cooler climates, there’s a wood store underneath. The area has been fire proofed with fire-board and galvanized steel.

Flooring throughout is reclaimed oak, all cupboards are pine. At the rear there is a beautiful oak stable door with a stained glass window that leads on to the back ramp which can be down flat or propped up as veranda or stage area.

Kitchen:
The fully fitted cream kitchen is just like being at home, made from beech and pine with a waney edged beech worktop. Plenty of space for food prep and creativity. There are two more windows to watch the world go by. The full size LPG cooker is a real treat, if your feeling like making a roast you can! (LPG bottle is under the truck outside)
Plenty of cupboards to store all your kitchen stuff and more. The Belfast sink has a wooden top so you can have more surface space if desired or you can hide your dishes! There is a huge 140L water tank underneath the truck and the fill is easy.

There is a wet room with Kildwick composting toilet, a copper rainfall shower which is so amazing and a pine mirrored bathroom cupboard. In the storage cupboard adjacent, a Jabsco par max 4 water pump and a Rinnai REU-58 boiler are housed, this cupboard is great for coats and shoes too.

Hallolite downlighters run centrally inside the truck, there are mahogany wooden sockets and Bakelite switches throughout.

Betty’s Electrics:
3 Elecsol 250ah batteries,
6 Solar Mono Crystaline 80w panels
Victron smart solar MPPT 150/35 with Victron VE direct bluetooth smart dongle. (You can watch your solar info via phone or tablet )
Sterling pro combi sine wave inverter. ( Best unit in the world) Bombproof!
This rig powered all electrics within and also power tools, sewing machines and a PA system!

Safety
All gas appliances have been fitted and tested by a gas safe engineer.
There is a carbon monoxide detector inside with a fire blanket and fire extinguisher.

Betty really is a one off, she’s ready for some new adventures or just to be still and loved. We will miss her.
