For sale is our brand new campervan conversion – Sebastivan!
I purchased Sebastivan as an empty van in March 2025 and have been converting since then. As such, it has been part self-converted and part professionally converted, with the gas, electric and water systems having been installed by licensed professionals. More details about the build:
Conversion:
The whole van (floor, ceiling, and walls) is fully insulated with 50mm Celotex PIR insulation board and all gaps plugged with recycled Polyester insulation (so all gaps are filled!)
South deadening sheets have been added to the metal carcass of the van, to reduce the impact of external noise when inside the van
Once insulated, the van was covered in a thin aluminium layer, which prevents condensation.
The van has then been ply lined/tongue and groove lined with high quality wood.
Electrics:
2x leisure battery system with isolation switch charged by split charge relay
2 x 200 watt solar panel plus display and control panel
Full inverter and fuse box with consumer units
Mains electrics
2 x USB and 2x 240v switches
Electric hook-up
8x spot lights
Roof vent and fan – this is great for allowing extra light in and to circulate the air.
Sebastivan is charged by three separate sources: solar, leisure batteries from the main battery, and electric hook-up. The system was designed to operate off-grid for long periods of time.
This electric system was fitted professionally.
Water:
100l fresh water tank
10L Propex Mains Electric Water Storage Heater (yes – hot showers!)
12v water pump
Full internal working shower (hot and cold) – professionally fitted. We were so surprised by the water pressure we can get in the van – it is such a luxury.
This water system was fitted professionally.
Gas:
– Gas hob (gas box installed underneath the countertop and contains a campingaz 907 bottle, which typically lasts around 3 months of daily use and can be replaced for £30)
The gas system was fitted professionally.
Living Area:
We decided to split the kitchen area into two to best accommodate the space and the shower. The kitchen is equipped with:
– Dometic CRE50 DC 12v 24v fridge. There is no wonder why these are the best in the business – this will run on 12v to minimise electric consumption and is super quiet. There is a small freezer section too which is super handy.
– Two ring gas hob
– Beautiful farmhouse sink with sleek black tap, fully plumbed with hot and cold water.
– custom built counter top which has been finished with top quality osmo oil
– ample storage space in the cupboards, drawers and a full pull-out larder, which is great for storing food stuffs (and wine!)
– plenty of additional storage under the sofa, which pulls up to another large cupboard
Living Area:
We have built a sofa seat which comfortably seats two and a rotating table. Due to the limits on space in the van we wanted to be able to fully manoeuvre the table so it didn’t feel in the way whilst we were cooking/moving around the van etc. This space is great to have meals, play games or work and the table can pushed fully against the shower wall when not in use which is a great was to save space.
The bed is the equivalent to a large double and is ridiculously comfortable! There is a large overhead cupboard fitted above the bed which can comfortably fit plenty of clothes/bits and bobs!
Underneath the bed there is ample storage space which we have never managed to fill. We have the water tank and all electrics installed in the garage.
The van has been finished mainly in tongue and groove because I absolutely love the Scandi, clean finish that this gives the van. There is plenty of room for your own customisations too.
Other miscellaneous items included:
Porta Potti (never used!) and chemicals
Fire alarm
Carbon monoxide detector (absolutely essential)
Wheel lock and steering wheel lock
This is an absolutely beautiful van and ready for Summer adventures! We are only selling as we are planning to move abroad and don’t want to put it in storage for such a potentially long length of time.
I am sure I have missed some bit out so will be coming back to amend the description sporadically! I am more than happy to answer any questions that you may have on the build, the van, or anything so please feel free to reach out. I also have hundreds of additional pictures, of throughout the conversion and as a completed conversion, and am happy to share these.
The bed is a permanent structure width ways across the back of the van. It is a full double (190cm x 190cm) and can sleep two adults comfortably.
