Citroen Dispatch
Citroen Dispatch converted into a basic two-person camper. We’re selling because we got a greyhound and he’s a big boy who doesn’t fit in there with us! Only just been serviced literally within the last 20 miles. Brand new MOT January 2022. New front tyres. Comes with pull-out sofa-bed, leisure battery, two gas hobs with gas bottle, led interior lights, opening sun-roof in the living section, split charge relay, diesel heater, water containers, bluetooth radio adaptor, Tomtom satnav, jump leads and 12V tyre inflator included. Lots of storage. Well insulated and ventilated, plus the diesel heater is dry unlike gas heaters so you avoid the condensation problem many conversions suffer from. Very discrete, doesn’t even look like a campervan from the outside. This campervan is absolutely ideal for long road trips, weekend camping, or stealth camping. Designed and built by someone who has spent a good amount of time living in a van, so avoids the mistakes made by first-time converters! It’s a basic camper and the price reflects this, but the work is all done to a very high standard.
The Dispatch is about the smallest van you can comfortably convert, which is great for getting down country lanes to the best beauty spots, but it means space for luxuries is limited. That being said, the split charge relay tops up the leisure battery to provide LED lighting in the back, as well as two 12V cigarette lighter style sockets (and of course you can plug a USB adaptor into these too). It also powers the diesel heater, which gets the van nice and toasty very quickly. There’s also insulation everywhere you can fit it to retain as much of that heat as possible. A pull-out sofa bed that will sleep two has been added. There’s also a storage unit that houses the camping hobs and accompanying gas bottle, leaving plenty of space to store whatever else you need for your trip. There’s a pull-out table hidden under one of the shelves and a load of cleverly designed hooks that slot anywhere you need them so you can customise the storage area to suit your needs. An opening roof vent has been added in the rear to let in some sun and fresh air, but it also has a blind so you can have a lie-in when you need one. It’s a self-build conversion, but done by an experienced converter who has spent plenty of time living in vans.
