Conversion description
Conversion process from start to finish:
When I bought the van it was a ply lined work van. I removed the bulk head and plywood then cleaned the interior metal. The interior was in good condition, the paint having been protected by the ply lining.
I then sound deadened the walls, doors and ceiling the recommended 40% coverage. I used dodo thermo liner on walls, doors and ceilings, before covering with 4 way stretch carpet.
I used dodo thermo fleece insulation for all larger cavities.
I used dodo mat deadn duo pro for the floor, before replacing the ply lining. The floor was then covered with a wooden effect lino.
The furniture inside is functional. The bench seat runs the length of the van and is comfortable as a single bed, or pulls out to make a double. There is storage underneath. The bed is easy to remove.
I built a storage/kitchen/cooking unit with a table that can be stored upright to secure the contents of the cupboard, used horizontally as a table, or folded down to allow easy access to the cupboard. The middle section of the cupboard is largest to hold a 12 v cool box/fridge that can be plugged into a 12v socket at the rear of the van, with space for other storage too.
There is a fold down table on the nearside barn door.
I have made thermal lined blackout curtains for all windows, and curtains to fit in the space where the bulk head used to be. They are an effective barrier to the cold and help keep the van warmer on colder nights. All are secured with magnets sewn into the curtains.
The bench/bed cushions were made to fit using 4 inch foam, covered with made to measure removable cushion covers.
There is an electrical fault with the drivers window. It has never bothered me so I haven’t had it looked at.
There is a tow bar with 7 pin socket which is used to carry a bike rack which can be included in the sale.
Very happy to answer any questions and provide more photos.
Reason for sale: we are now looking for a bigger van.
