CITROEN RELAY CAMPER CONVERSION

Meet Ethel the Campervan. We have had three happy years together but we are now reluctantly selling as we are hoping to buy a caravan instead.

Ethel is easy and comfortable to drive, despite the size, and with good visibility from the cab position. With the large diesel tank, we found ourselves rarely refilling as the MPG is very good. We were pleased to discover that the vehicle is exempt from LEZ in towns like Bristol and Bath.

The Citroen Relay is a wider than average van, allowing both the full size double bed and working space and height internally. If you are going to spend any time inside the van, you will come to appreciate this compared to many smaller vehicles. We take a lot of stuff with us camping, including, gazebos, hammocks and frames, and all this fits easily in the under bed storage which is accessible both through the rear doors or the internal hatch to the main area.

Because, internally, all lights are LED and the leisure battery is reasonably sized, the solar is all that is needed to keep the battery topped up and the fridge running, even over the winter. Nevertheless, there is a handy hook-up point on the side of the van for connecting to campsite power which would allow mains based appliances to run.
