Detailed Information
Vehicle Description

The base van is a 2009 3.5 litre extra-long wheelbase, Citroen Relay XLWB, 35 HDI (120XLW6 L4 H2 140PS, 3.5 tonnes), so just under 6.5m long, 2.5 m high. Has a 6-speed gear box, air-conditioning and reverse parking sensors. MOT runs until 26th February 2025.

Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) value was replaced in 2021 and the clutch around the same time. It’s just had new injectors, new offside front wheel bearing and right leafspring. A few little dents as you’d expect, had a minor oil leak (see MOT history) but hardly any rust, just a few paint touch ups.

Conversion Description

This is a unique campervan that was designed with our young family in mind, hence bunk beds in the back and rear seats that recline to allow kids to snooze on long journeys. Plenty of storage for toys, books, boggie boards and all sorts of sports stuff for kids – D-shackles on the ceiling which are handy for surf boards.

Popular pine plywood was used when possible and it was lined with material, to keep the weight down throughout the conversion process (which was finished in summer 2013). The floor and units are treated with a hard wearing finish.

It has a tinted back windows and a well-insulated interior (included an insulated floor) finished with fabric headlining . There’s a skylight with trickle vent in the roof and LED lighting.

Pioneer AVH-X3600 DVD player / DAB radio in the front has hardwired output / input cables stretching to the back, as well as Bluetooth, and a pair of rear speakers. The unit is duel switched, so it can run off the van battery or twin fitted leisure batteries when you’re parked up. The leisure batteries are charged off a 45-watt solar panel on the roof as well as the van engine when travelling. There’s an inverter providing a single 240v plug output and various USB 3.0 charging points.

Under the L-shaped rear seating is a pull-out bed base that converts seating sofa into an almost full-sized double bed. Stored under the bed are a large, rectangular Kookaburra sunshade with four poles, plus a beach umbrella.

Water storage is in 5x five litre portable containers again under the L-shaped rear seating, with stainless steel water dispenser with tap fixed on kitchen work surface. Also under the seating is a large Coleman cool box in a pull-out draw and there’s a small 12v fridge running off the leisure battery system.

Additional pull-out food storage under the raised reclining rear seats, which also hides a small strong box for passports, etc. Built into the kitchen worktop is a Thetford twin hob butane gas stove, with gas in secured in sealed, lockable and vented compartment.

There’s a removable table for inside dining, whilst adapted IKEA storage units with multi-coloured plastic draws provide lots of storage and sets of plastic plates, bowls and cups, cutlery and utensils, as well as light-weight cooking pots (all included). Additional storage is with a ring of storage nets around the ceiling.

There’s storage points on the back doors and back of the bunk beds has fixings for an axe, saw and spade, solar shower, and electric water pump (unused). There are also hooks for hanging wetsuits.

Stored under the bunkbeds are four camping chairs, a fold-up table, wheel chocks for levelling the van on uneven ground and an insulated, black-out windscreen cover (again all included in the sale).

It was important for us to make sure everyone gets a good nights sleep. Insulated black out screens cover the internal windows, held in place with rare earth magnets, make for a very sound sleep!
