Mercedes T1 208D
Beautiful example of a 208D van, NO FILLER, bodywork in excellent condition, imported 2001 and bought by us 2023 from a Mercedes mechanic and enthusiast and converted for an overland Europe trip. Can fit 2 adults and 2 children – one restricted length bunk bed at 1.2m. Many happy memories traveling from the UK to Bergen in Norway and back. Sadly selling as moving/change of job and she’s not getting the use she deserves – anyone who knows these vans will know they will go on forever.
Completely internally reset with subfloor insulation and custom cabinetry in exterior grade ply and ‘Made In Ply’ Formica topped worktop with gas cooker and sink with electric water pump and grey water tank. Flooring is industrial grade slip resistant safety flooring – easy to clean.
Seats fold forward or are easily removable in a 2+1 configuration to adapt occupancy.
Rear garage area adapts to remove countertop and central rear storage to open through to main cabin with just 4 screws.
Professionally installed side window tinting giving UV protection and privacy.
Waxoiled underside and as you can see from photos showing very little deterioration.
New clutch slave cylinder and master cylinder 2024. Fully serviced by Everymans Garage and MOT July 2024.
Included is a Fiamma caravanstore xl 360 , Privacy room cs light xl Fast clip cs xl in Royal grey.
Very much ready to go adventuring with 1 or 2 children or as a couple, or a day van for group of 5. It is basic compared to modern “motorhomes”, but is very comfortable, adaptable, easy to drive and not too big for a normal car parking space. No requirement for C1 UK driving license (this is for vehicles over 3.5T).

Insulation
Taken back to chassis and subfloor installed with 10mm solid closed cell insulation board, 15mm ply flooring and surfaced with Polysafe industrial grade slip-resistant flooring. Roofing and sidewalls with glass fibre/loft insulation and pine paneling. Ceiling Fiamma vents/fans x2.
Cabinetry
‘Made in Ply’ Formica-faced plywood and structure made with exterior grade birch ply boarding throughout. Doors cut professionally with CNC machining for exceptional fit. Motorhome door catches.
Back/garage central section removable with just 4 screws – see images.

Beds
Fixed under-counter cubbyhole bed 1.2m length with storage shelf.
Countertop converting double bed with extra section mattress over the kitchen worktop – see images. Longer section of the bed (also a sofa when bed not constructed) with a 5cm foam mattress, rest of bed converted from 10cm foam motorhome mattress that was previously installed.
Seats
Original driver and passenger seats, passenger seat with swivel plate installed. Main battery and split-charger under driver seat, leisure battery, circuit-board and mains battery charger under passenger seat.
Professionally installed Mercedes Vito 2+1 variation forward folding and removable seats. Isofix, 3-point seatbelt and headrests in each seat.
Kitchen
Steel single unit 2x burner hob and sink with professionally installed Campingaz 907 cylinder and locker (located in the garage area) with bubble tester unit. 20L cold water tank with electric pump and 20L grey water tank, mounted under sink unit.
Overhead storage cupboards, shelving under kitchen counter and under the fixed child’s bed.
Erbesbacher diesel heater installed with easy access for maintenance under step in main cabin.
One fixed child bed 1.2m length.
Foldaway countertop double bed, one longer section (2m) and one shorter section (1.6m)
Plus additional section same length as the double bed (1.6m) that can easily fit another child but restricted headroom.
