Genuinely a delight to drive, feeling much more responsive & easy than you’d expect for a van of this size.
The stereo has a USB cable attachment which is great for listening to podcasts on the phone whilst charging it.
As a camper it’s brilliant, the rock and roll bed is well padded and makes for a comfortable night’s sleep, while the removable upper bed can fit two adults at a push but is perfect for our 8 & 10 year olds.
A gas heater happily puffs away keeping you warm even in winter. It can run off the leisure battery but in the interests of saving gas and electric we just run it until we are in bed then turn it off. The van stays cosy enough.
When not set up for sleeping, the bed rolls back, the passenger seat swivels round and a fold out table slots in for eating, or for games, sketching, etc.
Catering is made easy with a double burner gas hob and grill for cooking, a compressor fridge with a freezer box large enough for maybe a pack of fish fingers and a small tub of ice cream. I have no idea how this works, but I was surprised to see how cold it got after a couple of hours.
There is ample storage space, with cupboards all over the place.
It has a cable for electrical hook ups, two wheel wedges for levelling and also comes with a full awning tent. We’ve never actually attempted to used this, but it looks substantial and fits onto a rail on the sliding door side.
Also comes with this awning, worth £350ish on ebay – https://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/tents/p/khyam-motordome-tourer/638
TECH STUFF:
MOT due – Jan 2026
Full History – as far as I can tell – recent work included replacing the engine thermostat unit, handbrake cable, battery and front windscreen.
Fuel type – Diesel
Heating and cooking runs off bottled gas – fresh one fitted.
PLEASE NOTE
There is only one thing that needs repair, which is the sliding door lock barrel, which sheered off so needs replaced. We have the part number but decided to leave it to the new owners to decide what they would rather do; whether to replace all five key barrels in one go for uniformity, or to have a separate lock on the sliding door so, for example, the kids could get in but not start the engine.
There are a few bits of rust on the fuel cover and window corners but these would be easily treated. The front windscreen has just been replaced and the interior aperture was fully restored then.
Fully converted to high top campervan prior to me buying it.
High top with removable double berth.
Rock and Roll bed
Gas heater
Fridge, cold water sink, double gas hob, gas grill
240v hook up
Water tank
Passenger seat rotates
USB sockets 12v
240v sockets
Main bed is a rock and roll double bed which becomes the rear seats/sofa.
Top berth is a collapsible double bunk which fits two kids easily enough and has (I’ve tested it) fitted a 6ft, 100kg bloke. Just don’t sit up too quickly
