The Compact Camper

This freshly built camper is my second build, this time I wanted a smaller more compact build than my last.

Built on the durable Ford Connect 1.8 turbo,
This van has only 1 other owner than me, its been well looked after, a new timming belt, starter motor and starter battery has been changed this year.

I have dead sounded and insulated the entire van. Rubber matting and 18mm ply for the floor, recycled plastic insulation for the walls and ceiling with a vapour barrier wrapped throughout.

Walls are painted with furniture paint so can wipe marks off easily. Carpet has been applied to all exposed metal. Nice thick stained tounge & grooved for the ceiling.

A dometic roof vent has been installed with a bug screen and black out blind.

A gorgeous wood effect vinyl has been layed on the floor, trimmed with black metal edging.

I kept the cargo area free with space to have the option to add a bed/seats or cabinets if desired. I personally like the free space as it fits my dog cage with ample storage.

I had tailored suction blinds for the cab windows and tailored turtle back covers for the seats.

Sitting on top of the roof rails is the impressive Venture – extended annex roof tent, that can sleep 3 people up top and a further 2 in the annex. I can set this roof tent up in under 10mins. What I love about this tent is that you are fully sheltered when using the ladder and enclosed when using the side door of the van. (used twice over the summer)
The tent also comes with a zipped in ground sheet.

For powering and charging equipment you have the portable 300w PowerOak Station that once charged using mains/12v or solar you’ll have days of battery life. You’ll also get the portable Renogy 100w solar panel so you will never be without power.
