Renault Kangoo ML19 Business DCI 75
This is my Renault Kangoo ML19 Business DCI 75. The engine is a 1461 diesel which does great miles on long roads but is also really good around town, fuel efficiency seems really good. 5 gears.
The timing belt, pump, tensioners etc were all replaced in June 2022.
The van had a full Renault service with new filters and 2 new tyres May 2023
The body is also in great shape and the MOT is due next May 2024.
I’ve driven to the north of Scotland and as far south as the Algarve with no issue, it is a lovely van to drive, nice to handle and comfortable over long distances.
The van is now within the new London ULEZ zone, I’m happy to reimburse the cost of the charge to the buyer of the van.
I am also happy to deliver if funds are cleared and it’s not too far out of London.
Please, no time wasters.
The van has a custom conversion in the rear – fully insulated and sound deadened and finished with ply lining. A raised platform for sleeping/living over 3 deep storage compartments; 2 accessible from the rear doors, 1 from the sliding side door on the passenger side. Additional storage with cargo netting and wall mounted shelves. A ‘cliff edge’ table mount on the passenger wheel arch box is for a small table. A blackout curtain provides privacy from the cab. The sleeping platform is in ply with soft thick matting to provide a comfortable, warm base for a futon or similar. The platform folds out when the front seats are forward, extending the sleeping area.
Getting in and out: you can easily get from the front into the back . Otherwise exits out are via the rear doors. The passenger side sliding door only opens from the outside although I think it’s possible to get a modification to be able to open from inside too.
Cooking is on a single burner pack-away stove fueled by gas cartridge.
There is a rear interior light beside the rear doors.
Water is in a 6 litre bottle stored inside the sliding side door.
I’ve been using a flexible 130 W solar panel together with a small power station such as Bluetti or Jackery for off grid camping. There are magnetic discs on the ceiling of the van to store a solar panel and heaps of space below for a power station which can charge from the engine when you are on the road via the 12v or via solar when parked.
There are no windows or roof lights in the rear, this protects anonymity and makes overnights easy and stress free. With the front windows open an inch under the rain guards, the van is vented for sleeping.
This van is perfect for weekends or weeks on end, to make it your own you just need a roll away mattress like a futon (90 – 100 cm width).
The van is compact. I use a futon roll for sleeping, it rolls away and leaves the whole space clear for sitting, cooking etc. This is spacious for 1 person and cosy for 2. The sleeping platform folds out into the cab with the 2 seats forward and folded to allow for more comfortable sleeping.
The length of the platform with the extension lowered is 180 cms or 6 ‘ but that would be a tight fit and it will be better suited to you if you are 160 – 165 cms. In summary, this van is really designed around a shortie, like me!
