Ford Transit Connect
My little side kick ‘Road trip Ronnie’ is reluctantly up for sale. It is time for him to find a new adventure family after spending the last 2 years with me. I’ve taken him on many weekends to the Peak District, Lake District and have done 2 month long EU road trips where he ran like a dream every single day.
Ronnie is an ex-council owned van, partially converted by his previous owner over lockdown. I have had him since Feb 2022 and finished the conversion myself in summer 2022. Considering his is a 1.8 diesel, he is quite economical! I can usually get between 425-500 miles out of a full tank which usually costs me between ยฃ65-75.
Ronnie comes with buckets of service history and receipts from recent age related repairs including power steering, brake discs and brake vacuum pump repairs.
What the sale comes with-
-My gorgeous van, converted to a high standard with a slide out kitchen, cupboard storage and slide out bed. Van is insulated with recycled plastic insulation and is sound deadened.
-Drive away awning worth ยฃ300 (was put up once in France for 3 nights, and has since been stored in the garage)
-Portable pack away solar panel
-Electric power bank box (charges from 12V socket as you drive) Worth ยฃ600 alone.
-2 hob camping cooker
-Chemical toilet with chemical fluid
-6kg gas (has been used on last 2 trips but plenty left)
-Windscreen covers to keep out light while you sleep
-European driving kit
-Pop up window
– A reversing camera (which recently has been slow to load but eventually catches up once been on a while!)
The honesty section- read carefully.
As Ronnie is 14 years old, he’s not perfect. His bodywork is tired in places, as expected for an old boy. Unfortunately, due to him being a ford, the inevitable rust has started (a small patch on the passenger side sill) I have looked into getting a piece welded and was quoted ยฃ200 for this, I just never got round to getting it done.
The roof window fully functions but has been scratched from me scraping a height barrier in the dark in a poorly lit Italian car park. I haven’t replaced the plastic top due to it only being scratched and showing no sign of leaking.
Ronnie is due to be serviced this month and will be serviced in Jan if not sold prior to then.
The last MOT had an advisory regarding the front 2 tyres. These have not yet been replaced but will need to be before the next MOT in May.
Ronnie has only recently started to show signs of occasionally being a lazy starter. I have noticed this ONLY happens when he is low on fuel AND when the temperature is low outside. My garage has had a look at this and cannot find any faults with him.
I would love to keep the van myself, but I am trying to fund the next 2 years worth of summer trips to Australia and South Africa- therefore won’t get my typical use out of him until Summer 2027. Seems a shame to have him sat on my drive when someone else can get enjoyment from him.
I am in no rush to get rid of my lovely lad and I am still enjoying weekends away in him. I am not taking offers on my van. He is priced very reasonably considering all the added extras that come with him. The van and all added extras will be SOLD AS SEEN.
I am able to accommodate serious enquiries only. No tyre kickers either please! Please be mindful and patient when enquiring as I work very long hours in a very busy job!
