Volkswagen Transporter T4 2.5TDi
Unique high top campervan conversion, based on a 1999 T4 Transporter, long wheelbase high top. The base van is a 2.5 litre 5 cylinder turbo diesel with 5 speed gearbox. It has 11 months MoT and a full service history for the last 5 years, which is how long I have owned it. The work done includes timing belt, exhaust, and very recently brake discs, coil springs, ball joints and shock absorbers. All 4 tyres and the starter battery are nearly new. It has electric windows and mirrors, and air conditioning. Additional accessories include Garmin satnav, Blaupunkt DAB radio and dashcam. Paintwork and interior condition are generally excellent
The conversion can mostly be seen from the pictures. It includes rotating front seats (and they both rotate!), 12v compressor fridge, gas hob and sink, onboard water, rock’n’roll bed, EHU with charger and nearly new leisure battery, and smart TV. There’s also a lot of storage space. Off-grid facilities include a free standing solar panel and controller (sufficient for the fridge), and an inverter to power the smart TV. Various accessories are included, such as levelling ramps, exterior and exterior window covers, and an awning.
Note that the original conversion wasn’t that great, and I’ve replaced or added most things. However the carpet lining was fixed without high temperature adhesive, so the adhesive has bled through the lining. That’s mainly a cosmetic issue, but the new owner may want to replace some of the lining, which isn’t difficult or expensive.
Rock’n’roll bed for 2 people. When we bought it, there was a child bed in the roof. We removed it, but the mounting points are still there.
