Ford Thor Hurricane
Beautifully renovated motorhome, spacious enough for living in full-time. The layout is ideal for an off-grid comfortable, practical living space. In the kitchen space there is an under counter fridge-freezer, sink, hob and oven and microwave oven, so cooking and washing up is as easy as it would be at home.. There are several built-in cupboards, both under and over counter.
There are several double plug sockets and USB sockets, including 12v options so you don’t need to turn the inverter on to have a direct source to power. The van is lit with LED lights with warm, cool and dim or bright settings, controlled by remote controls. (There are also multicoloured LED lights as an option in the bedroom if you’re feeling like having a disco!)
The van has a propex hot air heater and also an intergrated boiler and hot water tank which gives more than enough hot water for a satisfying shower. There is a skylight and fan above the shower to release any moisture.
On the roof there is a solar panel and the roof has recently been double-waterproofed.

My dad bought this vehicle in August 2019, 6 months before the covid outbreak. His intention was to travel through Scotland and then down to Cornwall with a view to it becoming his winter retirement home. His intention was to rent it out during the Summer months, to fund his living expenses for the rest of the year. He spent a year renovating the vehicle as shown in the photos attached but, due to ill health his travel plans are no longer possible, and he has had to move into sheltered accomodation.
The vehicle has practically new tyres which have travelled less than 250 miles since replacement
It has a brand new battery
It has a tow bar
It has a 150L fresh water tank allowing extensive off site living
It has an outside hose connection and shower, ideal for outside showering/cleaning of boots/pets
External features
Double waterproofed roof with a 250W solar panel linked to a control panel with a 110 Ah leisure battery which normally shows between 13V and 14.5V.
Onboard generator and a separate 850W portable generator providing 240V to the inside of the vehicle
LPG gas tank supplying the vehicle’s propex fan heater, hot water boiler and gas cooker and oven
Full length (33 feet) awning rail to fit an awning which can provide a huge extension to the vehicle
A 240V portable washing machine
HUGE amount of outside storage space in lockable cupboards
Internal features
The vehicle is fully renovated to a standard suitable for full time habitation
Driver and passenger cream leather swivel seats, to create additional seating in the living area
32” Sony flat screen TV
Digihome HDD TV recorder with lots of stored movies
Electric kettle and toaster
All furniture, soft furnishings, fixtures, fittings, kitchenware etc as shown in the photographs are included
Bathroom including walk-in shower
Queen-size bed in the separate bedroom which has a mirrored dresser and ample cupboards for storage
Two double sofas
Kitchen table seating 4 adults
Lots of storage space including built-in cupboards, storage baskets and a wardrobe
There are some jobs that my dad never completed meaning that there are some areas that will need some work. Theses include:
The hot water boiler works intermittantly – it sometimes switches itself off. He was going to replace the thermostat.
The on-board generator runs, but the wiring needs looking at to get 240V into the interior. He was using the smaller 850W generator which is supplied and is used via the hook-up
The vehicle should have an electrically controlled door step but this has to be operated manually; this could be fixed
There are a few cosmetic scratches and blemishes on the outside of the vehicle but these dont affect its’ performance
Originally manufactured as an RV/ Motor home
One Queen-sized bed in the bedroom, 2 sofas in the living area, with additional room for a camper bed.
