Ford Transit Camper
Ford Transit Demountable Camper, was first registered 2001 and I have owned it since 2007.
It is in very good mechanical condition. It has recently had four news tyres, brakes overhauled, new front wheel bearings, alternator overhaul and a new dual-mass clutch and flywheel assembly.
Last year it failed MoT for the first time on emissions. I rectified this and it sailed through the retest, as it did this year.
It has an MoT until August 2022 with two advisories not considered essential. 1) slight misting of rear shock absorber 2) slight corrosion front wheel arch stating โwhich is not considered to be excessiveโ.
The Transit has three seats in the cab and a radio CD player. It has a reversing camera fitted as well as reversing bleepers. It is a short wheel base 3.5 tonne 2.4 turbo diesel. The camper part is a four berth and I do have a fifth bed which I took out as not required.
The luton has a double bed and the two settees (using the table) make up a second double bed. The settees were reupholstered before our last holiday.
It has a wardrobe, fridge, hob, oven, extractor fan, kitchen sink with running water.
Completing the floor area is a large cupboard with a drawer.
LED lighting illuminates the camper area. Also numerous cigarette sockets and USB charging outlets. There is a second radio in the living area.
There are five top lockers and another for crockery etc.
The toilet area has a toilet, wash basin with running water and a wall cabinet storage.
It has blown air gas heating. This would need checking out as the last time it was used was about 25 years ago. The camper is insulated and making a cup of tea is enough to keep the temperature up as there are no draughty doors and windows/windscreen to bring the temperature down.
Included is crockery and propane gas bottle.
We have owned the demountable camper part for over thirty years. For many years we have wild camped in and around France, Germany, Italy (and many other countries) for around five weeks at a time and the outfit has served us well. It is very easy to live in and has very comfortable large bed.
The only reason we are sadly having to part with our Transit Demountable is that my wife is suffering with her legs and canโt manage to climb aboard. The demountable was made by Glendale although it has never had a name on it.
Included is a new jacking system for removing the camper so that the lorry can be used independently. I do have the side boards for the lorry. It is registered with DVLA as Dropside Lorry – the camper is its load.
The price is ยฃ11 000 Offers.a price is only a guide, offers welcome as also urgently need space Telephone my father Ian Tansley 0115 9700990 or 07788 631267 who will be happy to talk about its history and many happy holidays. Well worth viewing, always upgraded adapted over time. by my practical father. In the early days started cutting out roofs of Ford Transits and putting elevated roofs in and kitting them out, then moved on to demountables. I think this is the 3rd Transit with the back length 5.5m, width 2.0m, height 3.1m 3 belted seats
