VW T4 Transporter LWB High Top 2.5 TDI
2.5 TDI LWB High Top T4
2.5 TDI LWB High Top T4. Offers welcome.
Reasonable condition for its age. It has a few paint scratches and some cosmetic rust and cracks. The MOT has flagged corroded sills, so they will need sorting at some point. The engine runs well and pulls as you would expect with no knocks or unusual noises. I have changed the oil/filter and air filter every year since owning it. I installed a new starter battery earlier this year, and I replaced the radiator 5 years ago. All four tyres (and full size spare) have a good amount of tread and no cracks. The front two are matching, the rear are different brands. The offside rear light has a crack in it, which I have taped up, there is a new light cluster included ready to fit. The double seat is a bit tatty, but functional, both single seats are in good condition. I recovered the roof lining in the cab a few weeks ago as it was sagging, which is common for this age vehicle.
Currently has 3 seats fitted and is registered as a 3 seater, I will provide with a single passenger seat and rotating base to change it to a 2 seater. It is a comfortable 2 berth for two adults, or a 3 berth for two adults and a child.
7 previous owners, but 1 of those previous owners was within the family (it has been in the family since 2014).
It is on the V5 as a private/light goods, I have tried registering it as a motor caravan, but despite meeting all of DVLAs criteria they will not accept it. Thankfully our insurance agree with me, so it is still on camper van insurance. We have had some great adventures in it across Europe. We are selling as we haven’t used it as much as we’d like in the past couple of years.

The van will come with (nearly) everything you need to get started:
A drive away Quechua inflatable awning with the extra clip in bedroom compartment with pump
Two folding chairs and a table
As far as we know, the original conversion was completed by a cabinet maker/joiner. It consisted of the overhead storage cabinet, 80cm wide bed, the sink/gas hob (with roof vent and locking gas bottle cabinet) for which water was fed from outside, a leisure battery charged from a split charge relay, a power invertor, 2xmains power sockets fed directly from the external hook-up, a safety power cut out and a full height toilet cabinet.
When we took ownership of the vehicle, I added the following:
-40cm x 100cm fold up bed extension (supporting up to 120kg with 6 locking hinges)
-Cut the toilet cabinet down to a seat height, adding the hinged seat lid to hide the toilet
-Side curtains and rear blind to project on to
-Internal table
-Extra storage shelves and pockets
-Fridge
-25L internal water tank
-100w solar panel
-Upgraded the leisure battery to increase the power capacity
-Added a battery voltage display and switchboard
A small double with an extra wide section at one end (making it a double with a corner cut out). W80-120cm x L174cm, extra section is W40cm (taking the full width to 120cm) x 100cm
There is an additional padded section on top of the toilet where our son slept up to 3 years old W62cm x L100cm (hence why I have only listed it as a 2 berth)
The contact details for this vehicle are no longer available because it has either sold or the listing has expired.
