Toyota Alphaard
This is an electric/petrol hybrid vehicle with a 2400 cc engine. MOT is due in October 2024. Body work is in good condition and it was serviced by the conversion company before we bought it in late 2022. It was imported from Japan in 2022.
We only bought this campervan late in 2022 – and we are reluctantly selling it because of age-related health issues. We want it to go to a ‘good home’! We chose this one because we had a VW when our kids were small and we had so many great holidays in it. We decided to go for a hybrid as we couldn’t in all conscience go in the diesel direction and a hybrid seemed like a step on the right road. It drives brilliantly and is a great size vehicle for driving around town as well as on narrow (and steep!) country lanes.
The conversion was by ecocampers (Scotland) and is a very high quality with wooden kitchen surface, tambour cupboard doors and newly covered front seats to match rear seats/bed. The flooring is new and easily cleaned, and the raising roof (with solar panel) is new. The portable toilet has a restraining strap for travel. There is a towbar; mains cable; airpump for the awning; flexible positioning of rear seats; swivel front seats (which we forgot to photograph!); ‘Road Angel’ satnav and DAB radio. The awning is large (Kampa Cross Air) and links to the vehicle above the sliding side door. It has a full groundsheet. There is a microwave cooker in one cupboard, an electric hob in another and a 240v hob on the kitchen surface which can be used when hooked up to mains supply – there is also plenty of space for kitchen implements and food in the cupboards. There is also storage space (shoes/other items) under the bed/rear seats and some small useful cupboards (sponge bags etc!) at the rear. The fold down bed is wider at the rear (for better sleeping!) and there are USB points in various positions for ease of charging. There are curtains all around except across the front where there is a privacy screen that can be put in place (and is insulated for warmth/keeping cool). We have all the manuals for everything in the van.
