Conversion Description

LDV Convoy Minibus / Campervan Conversion – Low Milage
2006 Reg with only 66k Genuine miles. Engine 2.4 Diesel, MOT until 10/11/2025
Sleeps up to 3 people

This campervan features a retro two-tone coachwork and is suitable for those seeking a spacious exploration vehicle that can sleep 2-3 people. It includes an easy fold-away double bed and single hammock for additional sleeping space.
The kitchen units are hand-built with a bespoke design, featuring a gas hob with two burners, and a sink with a tap. The entire vehicle shell and floor are double insulated, and the interior includes ample storage space. Additional features include LED ceiling lights, extra 12v sockets and USB ports, and a leisure battery connected to a 250-watt roof-mounted solar panel through a 40amp MPPT solar controller.
The vehicle comes with a large file of maintenance receipts and invoices, as well as recent new brakes and service. Both the body and chassis are in very good condition. It is a cost-effective alternative to a VW camper, offering twice the space, an annual road tax of £165, and running on a 2.4 Duratorq Transit engine with economical running costs. The campervan is in excellent mechanical condition, ready for travel. It runs and drives efficiently, averaging 40-45 mpg on steady long journeys.
This well-maintained campervan is prepared for future adventures in hot or cold climates.

The Interior:
The main cab has 3 seats with pre-fix belts.
The whole van interior was stripped back to its shell and the following was installed:
• Double insulated every inch of the interior (floor / walls / roof) with foil insulation against the metal then 30-50mm of wool insulation in all the cavities behind every panel. Nice and cool in the summer and stays warm in the winter.
• New flooring was installed with rubberised sound deadening against the steel
• 4 x LED spotlights in ceiling – push button switch control next to sliding door / Switch panel
• New high-watt dashboard lights fitted
• Spare Wheel with good tyre plus one Spare Tyre / Bottle Jack / Wheel Nut Bars – All located in rear under-bed storage
• Ceiling and side panels. We wanted to create a ‘Boats Hull’ effect so decided to run the ceiling panels from front to back, which we love the look it creates
• Hand crafted all the framework, cupboards.
• Large gas strut cupboard above driver cab with interior light
• Full size Double Bed – Easy to set-up and put away using a clever folding mechanism and latching
• Silentnight Memory foam mattress – very comfortable
• Adult size Hammock – Stainless Steel Marine Grade 10mm Eye Hoops fitted to the steel framework to support Hammock – Sleeps one adult or child – Many afternoon naps have been had in the hammock.
• 2 x extra 12v sockets plus extra USB ports in main space / plus 2 x in dashboard
• Bespoke Kitchen Unit with 2 x burner hob / sink with folding cold-water tap
• Two burner hob has propane supply – 1 x Gas bottle included in air tight vented unit
• 12V Ultra Plus 220AH Multi-Purpose Leisure battery
• 240v Double Socket (external) was pre-installed along with an external Mains hook-up 25mtr cable. – This would require a 240v to 12v inverter installation if desired.
• ARC22 Alpicool 22L Portable Compressor Fridge DC 12v/24v Refrigerator Freezer
• maXpeedingrods 5KW 12V Diesel Heater, LCD Switch and Remote Control and Altitude Adjustment
• Lots of storage space under the bed / Above the main Cab / Opposite bed
• Tall door on the right side rear of van is the utilities area:
 Leisure Battery / Fuse Box / 12v Supply Bank / Solar Controller / Tool Bag etc…

Summery
Overall, a fantastic retro looking adventure camping vehicle that turns heads wherever she goes and would suit anyone looking for a beautifully bespoke and very spacious campervan that comfortably sleeps 2-3 people.
We are reluctant to sell BETTY as we have had some amazing adventures over the past 4-years and more adventures planned, but our kids are not kids anymore so we may be looking for a larger project in 2025.
Cost-effective alternative compared to a VW Camper with twice the space, Cheaper Road Tax (£165 annual) stronger engine, and cheaper running costs. She has been very well maintained and is ready for the road ahead.
Runs and drives great, loves to cruise happily at 55-60mph (limited to 62 mph) and is extremely good on fuel, we probably average 40-45 mpg on steady long runs.
Lots of extra pictures available showing the full conversion since 2020.

That’s it. If you are interested get in touch.
Any inspections welcome.
