Lina – the off grid cabin on wheels ready for adventure come rain or shine! As soon as you open the door you’re greeted by the welcoming smell of wood, she has been lovingly crafted and is a truly unique rustic cabin on wheels which is guaranteed to turn eyes wherever she goes. Lina is fully insulated and kitted out to provide you with all the luxuries you need for a relaxing getaway from everyday life. Turn on your RGB mood lighting, fire up your thermostatically controlled heater, and you have the cosiest digs one could ever wish for on a winters night.

Conversion overview –

Converted here at Liberty Camps in Porth, South Wales, no cost or task has been spared. Further to the above information of works the van itself has undergone, it houses a fully off grid setup with 320 watts of solar power, Renogy’s state of the art 100ah Lithium battery with Bluetooth connectivity couple with a 1000 watt Inverter (both of which are upgradeable), shore hook-up and DC-DC charger for charging while driving. The van has 2 opening windows in the living area all with fire retardant black out curtains, and 2 static windows in the rear. In the kitchen we have a Thetford 2 burner gas hob, 65L compressor fridge, stylish undercounter kitchen sink with running hot and cold water. Handmade English Maple worktops and window sill. Fresh water is fed from the 55L underslung tank while the waste is deposited into a 25L tank under the sink with a drain valve ideally located inside the cupboard. The hot water is delivered to you by a Bobil van heat exchanger system which regulates both your hot water and internal heating. Ample storage in the kitchen with 3 drawers, a 2 tier cupboard, 3 overhead pantry cupboards and additional storage above the bulkhead. Maxxair fan with remote control. The seating area comprises of an L shaped sofa which also pulls out into a third bed, all with storage underneath and a new Porta Potti 165. Sleeping comfortably is a must and for this we have included a 4” memory foam mattress measuring 190cm x 135cm (full size double) and 2 overhead cupboards for clothing storage. 4 dimmable LED spot lights, a copper light strip, 2 LED strips and a JBL sound system to set the mood! External shower for washing off from your trips to the coast or those muddy adventures in the mountains and a 5Kw diesel heater to keep things cosy. Full description of all the above below.

Insulation –

o Dodo matt sound proofing
o 25mm Celotex in the floor
o 100mm recycled plastic wool in the walls, apart from the recessed areas where the bed is which have 25mm Celotex behind them. This allows for the additional room
o Dodo liner insulation & 50mm Celotex in the ceiling
o All beams and gaps have been filled with recycled plastic insulation
o Vapour barrier to control condensation

Windows and openings –

o 2 large opening windows on either side of the van. One has been been framed using a mixture of reclaimed English Maple and pine and stained using Morrell’s wood stain in light Oak then protected using natural ingredients in the form of a Hardwax Oil
o 2 non opening windows in the rear with covers to block out the light
o Maxxair deluxe fan with remote control in the kitchen area
o Front cabin hatch provides additional lighting or access to the cab in the event of an emergency

Kitchen –

o Rustic style hand-built kitchen units
o Handmade English Maple worktop, 3 coats of Danish oil, 3 coats of food safe Hard wax (natural ingredients)
o Thetford 2 burner gas hob with drop out vent (gas safe certified with certificate, ready to rent if required)
o Undercounter sink with matt black hot and cold faucet
o 65L compressor fridge/ freezer, can be used as fridge only if desired
o 3 push to open drawers, 2 tier cupboard, 3 overhead pantry cupboards
o Stylish bronze hinges and fabric handles used throughout
o Fresh water level sensor
o Waste water tank has a drain valve ideally located inside the cupboard for ease of use
o 240V twin socket with 2x USB charging ports
o Live edge wood incorporating LED mood lighting with remote control

Seating area –

o L shaped sofa which pulls out to form a 3rd bed. This can be set to pull out further than shown on the pictures if required, I have installed it so that people can pass through without the need to step over the sofa but can be adjusted
o Professionally upholstered 3” deluxe foam cushions using fire retardant fabric
o Woodwork stained using Morrell’s water stains and then waxed for protection
o Porta Potti 165 15L fresh water tank, 21L waste capacity
o 5Kw diesel heater with display panel and remote control located underneath kitchen unit
o Bobil vans heat exchanger – this provides hot water to the pressurised 10L tank in the garage and controls your heating in the van. All you have to do is set the desired temperature, sit back and enjoy the warmth. I ran a test to heat up 10L of water from 18c to 60c, it took 30mins!
o Removable dining table made from pine. This is extremely versatile and can be stored away when not needed
o Narrow but long overhead cupboard which isn’t obvious, good place to store valuables
o 2 x double USB sockets
o 240v double socket with USB charging

Sleeping area –

o Full size double mattress 190cm x 135cm 4” memory foam
o Slatted frame to allow the mattress to breathe and provide additional comfort
o LED mood lighting
o 2 x Overhead cupboards
o Copper strip reading light
o Textured Mural’s hand painted by my partner for both recessed areas, must see this to appreciate how cool it looks
o Live edge wood incorporating LED mood lighting with remote control
o JBL speakers which you connect to via Bluetooth

Electrics –

o Fully off grid setup
o 1x 320w solar panel
o Renogy 100ah Lithium LifePO4 battery with BT connection – Optional – additional 100ah battery @ £430
o 50A Renogy MPPT charger and DC-DC charger combined – feed from solar panels and starter battery while driving
o 1000watt Renogy ineverter with remote in living area – Optional – can be upgraded to a2000w inverter
o 10m hookup cable and adaptor included in sale
o Renogy One touch screen monitor which connects to your battery and MPPT charger
o 1000A Victron power lynx bus bar
o 20A Victron blue smart charger for charging your leisure battery off the shore hook up
o 12v blue sea fuse panel
o Blue sea isolators
o PV isolator
o 2x 230v consumer units. 1 is to take the feed from your shore hook up point and the other feeds off the inverter which then powers your sockets
o Conduit has been used throughout the build to keep cables safe and allow for future alterations if necessary
o The system is able to handle more consumption if additional items are added in the future
o Schematic diagrams will be provided with the sale

Plumbing –

o 55L underslung potable fresh water tank, 25L waste water tank
o Shureflo 12v water pump and accumulator tank with on/off switch in the garage
o Bobil vans heater exchanger converts heat generated by your diesel heater to warm up the water in your 10L presurrised tank, highly effective system. Can heat water up to 60c and feeds both the kitchen sink and external shower. Remote display in living area. The 10L water tank can also be heated up via a 230v heating element which is connected to you mains incoming consumer unit
o External shower with removable suction cup
o John guest pipe fittings used throughout

Walls, ceiling and floor –

o LVP flooring in the living area which is waterproof, industrial vinyl used in the garage
o Walls are done using reclaimed lengths of 150mm wide pine purchased from funky timber ltd. They have been planed to reduce weight and treated using a varnish on the back and Hard wax on the front face to protect against damp and warpage
o All plywood has been coated in a clear varnish to protect the wood
o Ceiling is 9mm tongue and groove pine, stained in Morrell’s brown mahogany and treated using hard wax
o Wood used for furnishing is reclaimed pallet wood which has never been used so no nail marks/ holes. All the wood has been planed and sanded, then stained and treated with wax. It’s a lengthy process but the outcome is beautiful

I have spent the last 3 months working on Lina, this is Liberty Camps’ second conversion as a business and a lot of love and care has gone into it, as it will with all my builds. We build all our vans as if it were for ourselves and as such a lot of thought has gone into the design for space, weight distribution, and of course, beauty 😊 The name Lina means ‘a ray of sunlight’ or ‘beautiful girl’ in Persian. My fiancée is a scenic artist and has helped bring Lina to life in many ways, her input is seen throughout the van in stylish décor that is unique to this build.

All items in the van are brand new and are covered by the manufacturers warranty, further to this there is a 6 month warranty on the conversion itself, this excludes the van which has been serviced and Mot’d as per the above info.
