LDV Maxus
We are selling our converted LDV Maxus Vanessa. She started life as a school minibus so she has part service history and has been looked after.
The previous owners brought her part converted and finished her off with a sofa/bed, Thetford porta-potti and oven, as well as lots of storage. She’s got 2 leisure batteries charged with a 200W solar panel on the roof so is ready to go off-grid. The solar power is great for keeping phones topped up, then there’s hook up for on campsites. We’ve used that with a portable heater in winter and have been super toasty!
We’re sad to sell her, having had brilliant trips up and down the UK, but we’ve decided that something smaller will suit us better, given we live in a city and escape on weekend adventures.
She had a service in June and has just had a new MOT, valid until September 2025. There was some damage to the middle panel on the passenger side, which has been replaced, so it’s like new (apart from the missing decals!).
Mechanically:
• 132,000 miles (may increase a bit as we are still using the van)
• 2.5L diesel engine.
• Engine battery replaced with the best available Jan 2021. Starts reliably first time, even in winter.
• Limited to 62mph
• Tow bar.
• Electric windows
• 2 keys (no central locking which has never bothered us, but there are places where you can get the keys remapped)
• Comfy sofas which turn into large double bed
• Insulated and sound-deadened.
• Removable table
• Thetford porta-potti 335 with chemicals (we’ve never used this but it’s handy to have in emergencies!).
• Large fresh water tank with access through the sliding window to fill.
• Sink with tap. The pump has recently broken so needs replacing but it’s also easy to use a container with the sink.
• 20L waste water container that sink drains into.
• 4 x burner gas hob.
• Gas oven (amazing for camp pizza!).
• 12-volt 40 litre cool box fridge, also works on hook up.
• 2 x 70ah leisure batteries under passenger seats.
• 200w Xplorer MPPT Solar kit and split charge relay
• LED lights x 6.
• Kitchen spotlights x 3.
• 2000W inverter powers x 2 mains power points.
• 2 x additional 240v mains sockets and hook-up cables connect to 240v externally.
• 12v switchboard powers all lights, fridge and water pump.
• Handmade curtains which suckers to stick to windows.
Vanessa has everything you need, ready to go on adventures! We’re sad to let her go but we’ve had great times in her and are sure the next owners will have the same.
