The body work is in good condition, the panel above the windscreen was re-sprayed in November 2020. There are a few rust specks on the bonnet but the overall condition is good.
Cab is good condition, clean upholstery, CD player. No AC as with standard Sprinter vans.
The van is being sold with 2 sets of tyres-winter and summer.
14V solar panel trickle charger for vehicle battery also included.
Beautiful LWB, high roof self-build conversion for sale. The van is completely off-grid with a 300w solar panel, diesel heater, kitchen, sofa, pull out table, fitted double bed, wardrobe, compost toilet, fan, skylight and lots of storage space.
We converted this van to be comfortable for long trips, suitable for winter conditions and with ample garage storage for all your home comforts and sporting equipment. We have spent 2 winter seasons in the Alps with this van and wanted space, comfort, warmth, room to get dressed and a ‘proper’ bed, and for us it has ticked all those boxes.
Sadly, we are now in a position where regular trips back to the UK are becoming less practical due to a whole host of reasons and so we are looking to sell.
The majority of technical features were installed by us, however some elements were professionally installed. Everything is in good working order and easy to access and use.
• 2x leisure batteries- XTREME AGM 110ah, 12v
• Diesel Heater: Eberspacher Airtronic D2/D4 with thermostat- fitted by a garage 15/11/18 with 36 moth warranty. Works a charm, even in the minuses. Located under passenger seat and vents into the back of the van.
• Split Charger- STERLING POWER. Fitted by a garage. Located under the passenger seat.
• Solar panel-300W Perlight (1640 x 992 x 35mm) fitted on an aluminium frame on the roof.
• Solar charge controller MPPT, EPEVER, with isolation switch.
• Inverter- EDECOA 1500W linked to 2 x 240v socket- for smoothie making, hair drying, speedy charging moments.
• 2 x 12v USB/ cigarette chargers- 4 USB ports in total.
• Victron Energy Blue smart IP22 Charger for shore hook up. With fuse box (mains consumer) and 2x 240v designated sockets.
• Gas- copper piping, 13l LPG canister and safety box with outlet, fitted by a pro- signed off and certified.
• Lights- LED, 2 x touch dimmer switches. One as you walk in the van, one near the bed. Toilet has a flick switch, as does the garage space.
• Fuse box x 10 fuses + spares.
The majority of this hardware is located under the chest style ‘sofa’ in the van. It makes it easy to access and isolate when and if you need to.
We also installed:
• Fan- DOMETIC 3300/3350, 40 x 40cm, airflow in/out, 3 speed.
• Skylight- DOMETIC mini heki 40 x40cm, blind and fly cover.
• Window (driver side)- DOMETIC S4 blind and fly cover.
• New insulated bulkhead with sliding window hatch and insulated blackboard/ blackout cover.
• 2 burner stove with lid- CADAC 2 COOK 2 PRO (removable)
• 25l water tank and 20l waste-water tank under sink. 1 x 25l water tank in reserve.
• Water pump- SHURflo RV freshwater pump.
• Cool box- DOMETIC RC1200 (will come with the van, but is not recommended due to poor efficiency, probably great to re-use for BBQ’s at home etc…)
The body of the van is accessed by a righthand side sliding door, with a small but spacious hand-built kitchen fitted along the right side. The kitchen features a sink with cold running water, 25l water tank and 20l waste-water fitted under the sink with a water pump. The stainless steel sink has a bamboo cover to create extra chopping space, the tap swivels out so can be used for outside of the van (handy if you’re especially sandy of muddy!)
In the middle is a large, deep cupboard for all pots/pans/plates upon which sits a 2 ring gas burning stove. This can be uncoupled from the gas supply and used outside. It sits on Aluminium sheet and surround to avoid heat transference. The kitchen work surface can be lifted up and clipped in place when the stove is in use and put down when it is not.
The last space is reserved for a fridge, with a fold down work surface above it so it can double as a seat. We have had a cool box in the space at the moment which is 3 way (gas/240v/12v) however we have not found this to be great as it drains the battery quickly on 12v. We have never used it with gas which may be better.
Opposite the kitchen we built a toilet cabinet which has a toilet and small shelving unit and lots of space for hanging jackets etc. It has its own light and full-length mirror on the door.
The toilet is a simple composting toilet that we were happy with , however the space would be perfect for a porta-loo if you would prefer to replace it as it would be easy to remove the current set-up.
Next to the toilet is the seating area, a window and shelf. The seating area has a foam cushion and hinged lid for easy access to the main electrical unit. There is also a small space for extra storage. This also becomes the dining area when the table is pulled out from the bed frame.
The back half of the van features a fixed standard double size bed with a real mattress fitted lengthways. This allows you to stretch out and has created room for wardrobe storage along the full length of the bed.
Wardrobe features 2 sliding doors with a small hanging space on one side and ample shelving on the other.
The bed is approximately mid-height of the van interior but still easy to get in and out of. The space under the bed has acted as our garage and allows ample storage for ski’s/snowboards and multiple storage boxes. This is accessed by the 2 back doors of the van, there is no real access to this from inside the van as it was intended as separate garage space.
There is a shelving unit that faces into the van and is covered with bungee to prevent items (coffee, peanut butter, pasta etc) from falling out when driving.
The gas canister is fitted in the garage at the left front side to allow easy access for refilling. This is in a sealed gas box with outlet in the floor of the van. The box, piping ad canister were all fitted by a tradesman and we have the certificate/ sign off check.
On the right hand side we have a power point for shore hook-up and a 25m extension cable to enable easy hook up and various pitches.
The bed is a fully fitted standard UK double bed with an actual mattress- 135 x 190cm.
This is fitted in the rear of the van and is a permanent fixture (i.e, it doesn’t fold away)
