Volkswagen T4 SWB 2.0L Petrol 1992
A 1992 SWB VW T4, uniquely converted with recycled pallet wood and an MOT until January 2026.
It has a 2.0L petrol engine, making it suitable for conversion to LPG and there is space underneath for a tank alongside the underslung water tanks. MPG varies between around 28mpg in more urban settings to 23mpg on motorways (purely from my own testing). Engine has been looked after by my dad who’s a mechanic, so is in good condition and well taken care of.
Body is in fairly good condition with a small amount of rust around one of the windows. There is an occasional leak in the front cab area, which I have not been able to find a source for, but perhaps haven’t looked as hard as I could as it’s only a small amount that drips onto the rubber flooring. The rear of the van is completely sealed and has no leaks.
Full electrics, solar panel, diesel heater, running water, fridge, inverter, sun roofs. and more. Iโm very sad to say goodbye, but I havenโt been going on enough trips recently to justify the cost of keeping the van around. Full features below:

**OTHER**
– Curtains on all windows and shutters to close off between cab and main living area
– Bed pulls out and seat cushions are used to make a mattress – extends to just over 6ft
– 3 seats in the cab – driverโs and a double passenger seat
– Has always had covers on the front seats and the original seats are in great condition
– As itโs a petrol, itโs suitable for LPG gas conversion
Itโs a lovely van and I would love for someone else to be able to have some really nice adventures in it!
The bed pulls out over the sofa, supported by two fold-out legs, and the sofa cushions are used to turn it into a full length 6ft bed which comfortably sleeps two people (as long as you’re okay being slightly closer to the ceiling than normal!) Importantly, it’s possible to control the heating from the bed. With the bed folded out, there’s plenty of room for a pet bed or two on the floor space beneath, where my dog has spent many nights.
