Detailed Information
Vehicle Description

Glossy White exterior when clean- with a few marks especially on the front bonnet (it’s a Relay thing!) and an obvious dent on the upper left rear – it came with that so I can’t tell you the story behind it. Aside from that, it’s in good nick except for one missing wheel arch trim – last seen on the M4. Two brand new wing mirrors – currently unscuffed.

Full Service History available.

MOT until 22nd November 2024 – last MOT passed first time.

New Oil Pump (Spring 2023). New Brakes & Front Tyres (Summer 2023). Windscreen Motor replaces (Summer 2023). New Handbrake line (Autumn 2023).

Engine: 2198cc and going well.

A well maintained vehicle overall.

Conversion Description

This professionally-built camper is the perfect van for those wishing to spend extensive time travelling – especially off-the-beaten-track. She was bought for a one-year full-time adventure for the purposes of writing a book, and two years later I am very reluctantly selling “The Shitron” (it’s a Citroen with a composting toilet!) because of other pressing projects. She has been everything I wanted and more.

The van itself can be renamed but what is permanent is her a ‘scandi-style’ interior, with pine tongue and groove on the ceilings and sides, and elegant white cupboards, and various smaller very practical shelves built in. There is a kitchenette with space for preparing and comes with an extendable work surface.

Colour can be added via bedding/seating covers to suit personal tastes – although it comes with a grey rug and faux sheepskin rugs. Being an LWB van, there is extra internal space so the bed and dinette are fixed and there’s amble headroom. The dinette converts into a child/dog bed. The double bed has a mattress and luxury memory foam topper – making it super comfortable.

There is a dark wood parquet-effect vinyl flooring for easy cleaning which is in good condition. The walls provide good sound insulation and are well-padded. Heating is supplied via a Chinese Heater – I spent two winters in this van with no trouble with moisture or damp, and was toasty warm when the heating was in. Rarely did I have the setting go beyond half-way. The diesel is supplied from the van’s tank, and shuts off before the tank gets into the reserves.

It has ample storage, both in the ‘garage’ and also within the main body of the vehicle. It has four overhead cupboards, two more beneath the stove/sink (with three tiered shelving ) and two seating boxes – this van was designed for living in longer term. The silver 50L fridge comes with a small freezer compartment.

There is a small white door between the cabin and the garage which gives easy access to the electrics, but I kept the cat’s crate in here so he could be locked away if necessary.

There are two side windows installed on the near-side: a large blacked-out on the rear door, and a small window (with screen and fly screen options) by the head of the bed. This leaves the other side to look ‘stealth’ – like any other ubiquitous white van – only the trained eye would spot it has been converted. There are thermal screens cut to shape for all windows and a wheel lock. There are two additional locking mechanisms for each cab door.

It has three vents – a Maxx fan above the bed, a smaller fan above the two-ringed hob and a vent above the composting toilet. All are protected by flyscreen.

There is a shower cubicle containing a Blue Diamond (but it’s grey) composting/separating toilet which is in immaculate condition and very simple to use and low odour. The shower head runs off the 12v internal cigarette lighter.

Lighting is on a dimmer switch with six spot lights built into the ceiling – and can be operated from the bedside, as is the ceiling fan. It has 240v (one socket), a cigarette-lighter socket, and four USB sockets above the dinette, next to the control panel with battery reader.

The van can be charged by running the engine, via solar and also via plug in. Battery is stored in a 100 Amp Hour Renogy Bluetooth Lithium Battery – precise readings can be obtained via a mobile phone. There is 1 solar panel on the roof – supplying around 10Amps per hour in the height of summer. The is a Sterling DC-DC battery charger which converts engine power at a rate of up to 28 Amps/Hr, although there is an unfitted Renogy DC charger that converts at 40 Amps/Hr if you wish to have it fitted. As I lived aboard, I found I had to move the van every two days in deepest winter, barely at all in summer.

There is a 70L water tank in the garage and a grey water tank affixed under the van. Within the garage, there is a ‘Safe Fill’ LPG tank which can be self-filled at LPG stations for a fraction of the cost of Calor. There’s a trolly ‘waste water’ carrier in the garage.

The Cab has three belted seats, a reverse camera and DAB Radio installed. There are two cigarette lighters and various cupboards. Only one drinks holder – this, I admit, is rubbish. There’s a reversing camera fixed to the dash.

Apparently the van has a secret compartment – but I never found it.

Any questions, do get in touch. Viewings by appointment. Stratford upon Avon area is where she currently rests.
