Detailed Information
Vehicle Description

It is with a heavy heart we are selling our beloved Van Sandy. We have owned her for five years and she has been a truly amazing companion and a home.
We converted her from scratch with the help of a professional carpenter who specialises in van conversions. We really would like her to go to somebody who will enjoy her as much as we have.
If you are looking for a vehicle to last you a lifetime, Sandy is the one!

– Mercedes 613D KA like Vario 814d 508d 508 Dudo campervan motorhome LWB
– OM314 Engine – 6 cylinders 5638 cc (5.64 litres), Diesel, Manual transmission, 5 gears with a towing gear
– Weight (unladen) – 4680 kg, max capacity (GVM) around 6800kgs
– Left hand drive
– MOT – 23/05/2025 | Milage – 241977 km’s / 150357 miles

– Sandy was first registered December 1984. After 40 years it will be classed as an historic vehicle, this means it becomes tax and MOT exempt from April 2026, this has been confirmed by the DVLA). I can forward you all of the information I have received from the DVLA to complete the process if needs be.
– Registered in 2013 in the UK as a motorhome

– Originally manufactured in Germany for use as a police truck, well maintained with lots of service history included.
– Since purchasing Sandy in August 2019, we have looked after her very well, keeping up to date with any mechanical work that needs doing of which there has been a minimal amount. She has been driven regularly and has been on a few longer European trips.
– The previous owner also had extensive history documentation which was passed on to us and is included in the sale.

If you know these vehicles already, they say the military grade Unimog engines are built to do 1 million miles and pretty much go on forever if well maintained and looked after.

– Requires a C1 category on your licence if you were born before 1979 (45 years old). The weeks intensive course to obtain the C1 is very straightforward and quick.
– Tax class private HGV – £165 p/year
– Air/hydraulic brake system
– Runs on a 24 volt system
– The torque is incredible, when cruising on the motorway we usually stick to 55mph max

– Dimensions (Approx) – 7 m long x 3m Tall (with roof rack) x 2.2m wide
– The underneath is in very good condition for its age, the solid chassis and underneath has been wax oiled in the past and sprayed with lanoguard to protect against the elements.
– One of our favourite features is the hinge side door rather than a sliding one.
– Rear doors open 270 degrees and catch lock to the side of the van if necessary
– All doors have grease nipples
– Twin axel – 6 tyres in good condition with plenty of life left, and spare in good condition
– High clearance, great for off-roading

– 3 Sets of door keys
– Multiple drivers keys, water tank key,
– Manuals
– 3x working seatbelts

Servicing and mechanical work
– Yearly changing of engine oil, fuel, oil and air filters has been undertaken.
– Bi annual (at least) greasing of the kingpins and prop shaft, more frequent if undertaking a longer journey.
