Mercedes 814D
Selling due to health issues after many adventures over the last decade
Genuine honest ad so I expect the same in return-no tyre kickers or time wasters- if it’s not for you just scroll by!
Sold as per pictures except running tools behind front seat which will be removed
Cosmetic work required but structurally and mechanically sound
Full hand built beautiful wooden conversion , inside 18ft aluminium box, registered as motorhome on logbook
New front brakes last summer, clutch couple years old. No garage service history per se as lots of DIY services but a whole folder of documents including receipts for major work, old MOTs and some old stuff for curiosity’ sake from her early years.
Body work all extremely solid for age but needs a bit of tlc cosmetically. No major rust, just needs a lick of paint! Cab and back of box is hammerite so a bit flaky.
Wood burner, solar panel & batteries , full size gas cooker (happy to discuss if you don’t want any of these for some quids off!)
Fixed double bed plus pullout double sofabed. As with exterior all structurally sound but could use a lick of paint and a few minor bits sorted like a missing screw or a loose kitchen tile. Full size sink, tiles worktops including breakfast bar.
Some staining interior roof from old leaks. Currently dry but roof will probably need attention before the winter
Taillift mechanism still works but removed platform to replace then health stopped completion
Currently in Glasgow, buyer collects (although depending on location could be persuaded into one last fling to deliver for fuel costs!). Happy to send more pictures on request
All handmade by boat builder. Fixed double bed at about 4-5ft high, with full-size kitchen area with sink and large worktop area all with ceramic tiles. Full size oven (LPG converted), gas bottle included. Gorgeous solid wood, mainly pine, with wooden floor and tongue and groove walls and ceiling with loft insulation behind. Proper tiles in kitchen area, sofa has uncovered foam good enough to sleep on, will sell with the loose covers seen in pictures. Power from 175w solar panel on roof rack and 2x 110ah batteries, small 30a regulator. Electrics are currently just 12v sockets and 12v lights (various options but currently most unconnected as I just use central light, but really easy to reattach just attach wire to regulator). Everything is still really solid but if I was keeping her, I would give everything a good sand a revarnish/oil inside. Breakfast bar area nice for one person to sit at to eat and also makes good work area – I wrote an entire university dissertation there! various shelves and hooks, really decent size cupboards in kitchen plus top locker-style cupboards most of the way around entire entire so loads and loads of storage. Batteries under sofa, along with lots more storage space. Full size wardrobe area would make (and has been previously) a toilet or even shower cubicle, but currently nothing fitted as I am old-fashioned and like this kind of stuff outside my living space.
Fixed double bed at back, sofa pulls out to double bed. Former owner had the space below the fixed bed as separate bedroom with single bed and it’s own side entrance, but currently used for storage and a temporary double airbed fits nicely there when needed.
