Mercedes Benz T2 L407d van

It’s with a heavy heart that we’re selling our beloved 407d. We had such high expectations for this van but as always life got in the way and we just don’t have the time to give the love and attention she deserves. We bought her in 2019 and have been restoring her on and off since.

She’s had a full new coat of paint in rustoleum “water blue”, 4 coats in total and a final coat of matte lacquer.
All the bumpers, grill and bull bar have had the same but it black with a gloss lacquer.
All rust has been treated and major areas welded with new metal.
The sub frame has been painted with buzzweld chassis under seal with the floor removed so everywhere is covered.
Half the chassis has also been done.
The windscreen and side triangle windows have had all new seals and the metal work underneath been painted with the same rustoleum water blue.
I’m led to believe that it has had a new engine somewhere down the line, which is fantastic and starts first time every time.
With that being said I can not vouch for the mileage being correct because when I purchased the van the Speedo cable was broken which I have now repaired.
The rear brake drums have had brand new cylinders along with new flexi hoses but alas the hand brake is non existent.
The vehicle runs and drives perfectly but the brakes currently don’t work because I’m yet to finish installing a brand new brake master cylinder, which took a very long time to source because they don’t make right hand drive ones anymore. This being said I might have that complete soon or it’ll require so form of recovery truck to take it away.
Other points to mention are:-
– it has a small piece of the lower sub frame removed at the back ready for a new piece to be welded in, I have the pre fabricated piece ready to go still in it’s sealed packaging.
– It only has one silencer currently as half of the exhaust with the other silencer rusted and fell off which is now in the back of the van.
– It’ll also come with a box full of brand new Mr. Merco door seals for all doors.
– It’ll also come with the chrome 407d badges and the rear Mercedes Benz badge that weren’t on the van when I bought her but I purchased aftermarket.
– All door cards have been painted in gloss black rustoleum but yet to be refitted.
– The engine has had a full service.
– Been in dry storage since I purchased in 2019.
– The heater unit has been fully rebuilt.
– Also I will include a 711.113 5 speed dog leg gear box that with a bit of modification will fit this van and transform the drive.

All in all it is a fantastic van that has so much charm and character but with that comes 42 years of wear and tear.
This van is project but is so nearly there and would be great to see it completed. It’s completely empty in the back and ripe for a camper conversion or anything else you want, the space is fantastic.
