Conversion Description

The key thing to keep in mind with this van is it was built more for its adventuring possibilities, rather than style. That said, it is incredible comfortable and has all the kit you need to live off grid for an extended period.

This vehicle was designed by the owner before myself. Like me he was big into his outdoor hobbies: he spent winter in the Alps and summery at the beach, and therefore designed it with this in mind with stacks of storage for all the kit you need. It has been designed for year round use with secure storage for all the equipment you may need in the “garage”.

The cabin is spacious with plenty of head room allowing you to stand up and move around freely both in the shower and in the galley.

The galley is equipped with a new compressor fridge with freezer compartment that creates ice cubes for those all important Gin and Tonics. There is plenty of work-top space and a Dometic twin hob and sink unit with glass cover. Gas is from a LPG SafeFill bottle allowing cheap and easy re-filling of gas.

The LPG powers the cooker, hot water and central heating.

The toilet is fully fitted with electric flush and removable cartridge. The compartment also has an excellent hot water shower and the shower tray empties to a grey-water holding tank. The water supply is from a 70 litre tank.

As well as a bench seat, both cockpit seats are pilot/captain seats that swivel to face the table.

The sleeping compartment features a full-size John Lewis mattress and built in storage compartments. The whole living compartment is fully insulated, with extra insulation around and below the sleeping area.

Living for an extended period off-grid is possible thanks to the power setup. It features
– Twin 100Ah leisure batteries charged from the engine via Voltage Sensing Relay
– 100W solar panel and MPPT charge controller
– 2000W, 240V Inverter

There is also a TV aerial mounted on the roof.

The best feature of the van in my opinion is the garage. It is big enough to store several mountain bikes, surf boards, or all your winter kit. And being internal means that everything is secure and protected from the elements. The heater also has an outlet into the garage to dry out your kit.

Beds Description

A full permanently fixed double size bed with full John Lewis sprung mattress. The bed has full insulation in surrounding body work and beneath the bed for Alpine use
