Mercedes Vario 613D
Mercedes 613D Luton for sale, 2007, 172,270kms (107,043mls), MOT until 06/09/25
The time has come to sell my lorry. She started life as a delivery vehicle for a furniture store, is euro 4, with the famous 4.2L ‘million mile’ engine and mechanically wants for nothing, I would be confident in jumping in this tomorrow and driving it anywhere and I welcome any mechanical survey. The chassis is in exceptional condition and the cab and interior also present extremely well. The lorry benefits from a tacho delete to prevent battery drain (a common problem with these vehicles) and a Mercedes’ radio/cd player. She had new pads, discs and a pair of starter batteries just before coming into my ownership and I have had the oil and filters done twice since 2019. Kingpins have been regularly greased and I will supply the grease gun with the vehicle.
The fibreglass box is very solid and watertight, the roof has been treated with a coat of Cromaprol to prevent any leaks developing in the future. The box is insulated with celotex insulation, 50mm on the floor, 25mm on the walls and the ceiling is 25mm plus a layer of plastic bottle wool finished in hessian fixed with black dome head upholstery nails. There is a queen size double bed in the Luton with storage at the foot of the mattress and this doesn’t eat into the main space of the box as the Luton is huge. The kitchen area comprises of a full size LPG oven fed from a Gas-it LPG tank when travelling or one of two 25kg stand alone bottles when parked (one English 11kg and one Portuguese 11kg bottle supplied), a Vitrifrigo 115L 12v fridge/freezer, a large sink with an electric tap/pump fed from a 25L water tank with another for grey waste and tons of storage. At the rear of the vehicle is a huge L shaped sofa, upholstered in denim with very high quality cushion foam that doubles as a guest bed with the electrical system and storage area underneath. There is another seat opposite the sofa which also has storage underneath. There are four Seitz windows, two large and two smaller, all with integral thermal blinds and fly-screens. Two horse box style windows in the Luton and two large boat hatch skylights in the roof, one being above the bed for star gazing/escape hatch. Heating is from a Autoterm diesel heater underslung in a Autoterm stainless steel box and fuelled from its own diesel tank. This is a ‘dry’ van so there is no toilet or bathroom but there is space to add either if you so wish.
The electrical system is comprised of very high quality components and the 410ah of batteries with 800w of solar supplies ample power for whatever you need. The 2000w inverter is wired correctly and will function as such supplying very strong 230v power as and when needed. There are USB/12v sockets in the bed, kitchen and sofa areas. The sofa and bed both have their own LED reading lights and there are two large overhead LED lights in the ceiling.
I have listed all of the main components below, all having been fitted brand new in the spring of 2019, apart from the diesel heater, which was new in the autumn of 2022. Please bear in mind that the list is not comprehensive, there will be things I have forgotten and doesn’t take into account any wood, fixings, adhesives, labour etc
