Mitsubishi Delica Chamonix
We imported this 2003 Mitsubishi Delica in 2016 and have had this van since then but need to downsize.
FSH (since import in 2016)
Mileage just over 100,000
MOT until Sept 2025, no advisories.
Petrol 2970cc, it is listed as a Motorcaravan with DVLA.
AWB (two wheel drive front or back or 4 wheel drive (with locked differential)
It has a custom made aluminium radiator and a radiator header tank
It has a useful reversing mirror
and a tow bar with electrics – very useful towing capability
I have driven it to Italy and back a couple of times; never had any problems starting.
It has new plugs which are the long life kind.
The seats behind the front seats are two, and a extra one that can fold down and out of the way, so 5 belted seats.
The van is narrow (car width) and is Short Wheel Base so easy to park.
It was professionally converted into a campervan by Northstar Conversions who put in a poptop.
It has water tanks (fresh and waste).
2 USB ports inside, LED lights; 12v and 240v electrics, with hook up; leisure battery
It has sink, top loading fridge, table you can use outside and inside; in fact you can access the kitchen from the inside, or by raising the back door, you can cook and eat outside.
It is possible to sleep in the poptop (our son has slept there many times; since he was 10…)
We removed the last row of seats (it had three rows) and the 2 seats behind the front seats can rotate by 90 degrees so they are along the side of the van instead of parallel to the front seats. This means there is more room in the back too if you need to carry lots of stuff.
They can even rotate 180 degrees and face backwards for some situations.
The back seats also recline to make a double bed (which fills most of the van): this is made by fully reclining front and back seats. We made a concertina folding wooden board to put on all the seats so you have a solid bed base (I suffer from back pain so need a flat and solid bed). We have a mattress which fits on this bed base making a very comfortable double bed. We are not very tall, but you are lying lengthwise so this could also fit a tall person.
We have an awning + very big tent (Outdoor revolution with inner tent) that can be attached to the van, so great for festivals or camping with a family, as you can sleep in the tent (sleeps 2) or in the van or in the pop top.
double bed; bed in pop top
