Citroen Relay L3H2
2200CC
I bought this van brand new last year and had it professionally converted by Studley Campers, one of the best professional van converters in the UK. I lived in it for 6 months and loved every moment but have decided to stop travelling for now to do some volunteering so have taken the very sad decision to sell this incredible home on wheels so that someone else can make the most of it.
This motorhome is a step above most and really feels like a luxury studio flat on wheels; if you have any doubts about living in a van, this one is a gamechanger and is sure to change your mind. It looks like a normal van on the outside so that you can park it anywhere, such as in a residential street, layby or car park, overnight and no one would suspect that you are sleeping there. I had deadlocks installed on all the doors so that it would be extremely difficult for anyone to break in. It has such a comfy fixed double bed so you don’t need to worry about how well you’ll sleep, wherever you are. There are two very comfy seats next to the bed and an attractive table that you can pull out when you want it and put away when you don’t. The seats can be converted into a single bed so that the van sleeps three people. There is a fridge/freezer with a beautiful coffee table on top. One of the wow factors of this motorhome is the kitchen; it has a Thetford Duplex oven and a stylish double hob, as well as a proper kitchen sink. Another incredible thing about this little home is the tiled shower room so you know that you can have a nice hot wash wherever you are, and this is where the Porta Potti is kept as well.
The van is fitted with an underslung 25L LPG tank which can be refilled easily and this feeds the water heater, oven, hob, grill and air heater for extended periods off the beaten track.
The van has 320W of solar panels and two batteries and this combined with the split charge relay system means that you can be confident that you will always have power, and there is the back up of 240v hook up for on grid charging. There is a 12V fully touch screen LCD control.
The van has so much storage space with a huge garage under the bed, cupboards above the bed, storage inside the seats, kitchen cupboards, cupboards to the left of the shower room and a hidden cupboard, accessible from the living area, the inside of which is on top of the driving area. The motorhome has a beach theme with sea blue walls, sandy beige cupboards and sailboat curtains and these could easily be changed to suit the next owner’s preferences.
There are two roof vents with fly screens and blackout blinds and three windows which means that you can have plenty of natural light inside during the day; also the side and back doors can be opened. The van is perfect for soaking up the views wherever you travel from the comfort of your bed or your chair.
The van is a real pleasure to drive and has all the features that you would expect, including air conditioning and cruise control. I also had it fitted with a reversing camera (with a screen where the rear view mirror would be) and a hardwired dash cam. It has a S7 tracker fitted with a lifetime subscription already paid meaning that you can always see where the van is from your smartphone and if you are ever unlucky enough to have it stolen, the police can track it immediately.
There is a fixed double bed and the seating can be converted into a single bed.
