Vehicle Description

Fiat Doblo Cargo 1.3 16V MultiJet

MOT due 28/10/2023

The vehicle comes with an AA Warranty which expires on 28/01/2024.

Bodywork is in excellent condition with only one very minor mark on the sliding door.

Only issue currently is a glow plug warning light, I have had this checked and one of the glow plugs needs replacing. I have bought the part but haven’t had it installed yet.

All new Sailun Atrezzo Elite Tyres (185/65 R15 92T) fitted 04/05/2023.

Deadlocks fitted 21/04/2023 on both driver and passenger side doors, sliding door and rear barn doors with interior thumb turn for the rear barn doors. All lockable with the same key.

Wireless AUTO-VOX solar powered reversing camera bought new and installed 19/04/2023.

The front windows have wind deflectors which allow the windows to be cracked for ventilation without being obvious to a passer-by.

Conversion Description

Now with Jackery Explorer 240 Portable Power Station and 100W Solar Panel, only charged once since new.

Conversion process form start to finish:

When I bought the van it was a ply lined work van. I removed the bulkhead and plywood then cleaned the interior metal. The interior was in good condition, the paint having mostly been protected from damage by the ply lining however to be safe I covered any small scratches or damage to the paint with Hammerite white metal paint to prevent any rusting.

I then used double sided tape and foil insulation tape to attach panels of 25mm thick Kingspan insulation board to the entire ceiling and the walls in several places. The whole interior was then wrapped with ThermaWrap foil wrap to create a vapor barrier and provide further insulation. I left an air gap on both sides which adds to the insulation and gives extra storage where it is accessible from the sliding door (see photos).

Next, I built a frame for the floor and walls out of 25mm pressure treated roofing battens. This frame is wedged between the wheel arches and reinforced by roof battens that cross the ceiling and wedge against the metal frame of the van at the top. There are vertical and horizontal studs throughout this frame that provide stability and mounting points for furniture, without needing to drill into the metal of the van. In the space between these studs on the floor and walls I installed more panels of 25mm Kingspan for added insulation. The panels are wedged between the studs and to ensure they don’t come loose, and to add more insulation, I wrapped the walls and floor in another layer of ThermaWrap on both sides of the frame.

The inside of the wooden frame is lined with thin plywood on the floor and walls. The floor is bare plywood but the walls are wrapped with white and green vinyl wrap to provide a clean, good looking, wipe-able finish. The ceiling plywood is mounted behind the studs for extra height and is backed with more 25mm Kingspan and ThermaWrap foil. The exposed roof battens are wrapped with the green vinyl wrap whilst the ceiling plywood is left bare.

Green curtains are fitted at both ends of the living area attached to lightweight black metal poles which are fixed to the wooden frame.

The furniture inside is quite basic with a fixed bed frame and storage comprising of white plastic drawers reinforced with a wood frame. The bed has a custom sized mattress with fitted sheets. There is added storage under the bed. This furniture could be removed quite easily and the wooden studs throughout the build will allow easy customisation of the interior layout without needing to drill into the metal of the van.

This conversion was completed very recently ( I only bought the van in January 2023 and finished converting in June). I am selling as the van was a project during a year off from work and due to my career/moving I no longer have the time to use the van enough.

As I mentioned earlier because of the way I have built the frame, the van will be easy to add more too. I would be happy to remove the furniture and adjust the price accordingly if someone was looking to alter things or build more into this van.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email me at theojconnolly@outlook.com. I have priced it as best I could from market research but this may not be perfect so I am very happy to take offers and negotiate.

Thanks 🙂

Beds Description

The bed is currently a fixed structure and is approx the size of a single bed (slightly smaller). It has a custom sized mattress with fitted sheets. I have listed it as two berth, however you would have to be close with a person to share as it would be quite close.
