The van has a 2.2L 125bhp diesel engine and is a front wheel drive 350 version. The van has only had one previous owner (a solar panel installer) and we bought it when it was 3 and half years old, with 57000 miles on it.
We replaced the bench seat with a single passenger seat and managed to get the interior door trim panel from a left hand drive transit so that the passenger has a door arm rest and pockets the same as the driver’s side. This might seem minor but it makes a big difference for the passenger on long journeys and twisting roads.
We have always kept on top of routine maintenance and had it serviced annually, and it has never failed an MOT test. The van has been very reliable and has never let us down. It’s easy to drive and manoeuvre, and will just fit in a supermarket parking space.
The body work on the van is very good for its age, and we have waxoyled the underside four times since we bought it. When it had its most recent MOT (Sept ’23), the tester said what a solid and sound van it is. It passed its last MOT with no advisories. It had it’s 10 year service in October.
Since we’ve owned the van it has had a new starter and auxiliary battery (2021), brake discs and pads (front 2021, rear 2022), new glow plugs and fuel filter (Jan 2021), new timing belt and water pump in 2019. A new nearside driveshaft and CV joint was fitted in Oct 2022, along with new brakepipes between the servo and ABS pump. It has Michelin Agilis 4 season tyres all round and these have plenty of tread left on them.
We replaced the bench passenger seat with a matching single passenger seat to give more comfort on long trips.
We had the van converted in 2016 as our ‘home from home’ for our outdoor activities. and holidays. We did the insulation and decoration but paid for professionals to do the rest of the conversion! We decided to give the van interior a refresh in 2021 and had it professionally refitted to give us a spacious lounge area for relaxing and lots of storage while still being able to sleep in it. We also took the opportunity to get the electrics upgraded and a solar panel installed.
We were living in Sheffield when we designed the van and it has a Peak District theme. The external graphics are prehistoric rock art from Gardomโs Edge, the map wallpaper is the Dark Peak OS map (we lived somewhere just off the right edge of the map) and the coat/towel hooks are little rock climbers!
It has a โsecret compartmentโ garage which will take two mountain bikes or loads of climbing or paddleboard gear. There is over 6 foot of headroom in the van and loads of storage space in the over cab cupboard and under the lift up bed/settee.

Camping Gaz 12/240v plug in coolbox, which we chose rather than a built in fridge as it takes full size pop or wine bottles and is portable for picnics and barbeques.
Professionally installed electrics and solar panel – The van is mainly used off grid and has 12v DC electrics in the living space and a 12v socket in the garage for bike wash, SUP inflation etc. The 110Ah leisure battery is charged from the solar panel and a split relay charger from the engine. There is also a 240v hookup which is connected to a 240v socket in the garage, we added this so we could charge ebikes on campsites. Note: there is no inverter.
The van is our second home and we will be very sad to see it go. Only selling as we are now retired and are having a larger van converted and we need the space and money!
The van has a single adult bed and space for a second adult to sleep alongside on a camping mattress.
Originally the van had a double bed and it could be easily converted back again. There is space to fit a 135cm x 200cm pull out or fold out bed.
