Externally its looking stunning with a set of brand new Wolfrace alloy wheels & tyres and subtly sporty colour coded bumpers, front splitter, rear spoiler and gloss black side rails which match the wheels & pop top seamlessly.
This van is an absolute dream to drive, almost like a car! the cab in a nice modern & relaxing place to be – especially with the air-con to go with is!
Mechanically the camper drives well, it uses a 2.0L diesel engine which is ULEZ compliant, the “Wet belt” has just been replaced for piece of mind
This conversion was completed in house by the Northern Conversions team. We’re known for our high quality and attention to detail in the bespoke campervan world, and after recently carrying out upgrades & repairs to a number of “traditional style” campervans, we realised the quality of those was generally lower than ours.. so thought we’d offer our workmanship but in the traditional style of campervan that many love – That’s where Northern Dubs was born.
The conversion includes a pop top roof with an elevating bed (which allows additional room for sleeping), we teamed up with Streamline Pop tops to build the first LWB Transit Custom pop top opening – basically all LWB Transit Customs have previously used the internal roofing frame from the SWB van, meaning that although the outer roof shell may look larger, the roof space with the pop top elevated was the same as the SWB van. We worked alongside one of the UK’s largest pop top makers to give a much larger area and this van is one of the first in the UK to offer the larger living space.
You’ll also notice a large garage area which is never usually seen in a campervan of this design. We’ve utilised the extra length of the LWB van to allow this, making a perfect secure space for mountain bikes, tools, camping gear etc.
There’s also a swiveling passenger cab bench, belted rock & roll bed (meaning this camper can belt 5 people), Thetford double burner gas hob with combined sink, 12v compressor fridge, leisure battery, DC-DC split charge system, solar panels, Victron solar controller, Autoterm diesel heater, hookup & charger and of course the furniture kit which gives the camper a useable yet modern feel.
We’ve made sure this camper is equally at home out in the wild and at campsites. It can be completely off-grid with its 100w solar panel array and Victron Solar controller which on-grid via the hookup & battery charger. There’s also a high quality (autoterm) diesel heater meaning you can keep warm & toasty on those winter nights
The gas system has been completed correctly and will also come with a landlords gas safety certificate completed which should allow you to rent out the camper if you wished.
